Insiders are saying that Decker is in the final stage of contract negotiations with us. One thing I do like about his offense is it spreads people out like Tennessee and keeps the defense from loading the box

yesterday...he found a way to reel me in. If he gets Decker, and can get a good OL and RB coach then ill be locked back in....again.

One thing Beamer has done a decent job of, is respond well after a bad season. He just hasn't figured out how to have two good years in a row

FWIW Pro Football Scoop is saying Kendall Briles and Jimmy Smith are our new OC and RB coach.

If this is true Beamer grew a set of balls and knows next season is do or die

Smith would be a fantastic hire as RB coach, and has ties to SC. 10/10 would take that in a minute.

Briles is certainly a good hire from a playcalling standpoint. Some fans will have issue with it because of the issues at Baylor

*IF this hire happens, imo it is 100% Donati pulling the strings. He is the one with the connection to Briles/Smith. Which also may mean that Baker/Decker cooled on us and he felt he had to step in.

As far as I'm concerned he can bring his Dad too. Cfb has no morals

Briles is the OC I want and I’m shocked Shane might’ve actually learned how to play the game.

He would be a home run hire IMO. He’s a proven playcaller with a history of dramatically improving offenses.

Any SC fan that’s upset over this possibility because of his last name needs to grow a pair of hairy nuts. I’d take an entire staff of slimeballs if it means we finally sustain some success in football.

I’d maybe feel an ounce of excitement again if this goes through

Yup we’re trying to win football games not win civilian of the year awards.

I have to agree and I’ll admit I was wrong about my opinion on Donati being Tanner 2.0.

Briles wouldn’t have even been a thought if Tanner were still around.

I’ll get excited if we finish the year with 9 plus wins next year and follow it up in 26 with another 9 plus wins.

Until then, Beamer is on the hot seat as far as I am concerned.

I’ll believe it when it’s officially official.

If it isn’t announced by the end of the day today, I have a feeling it isn’t happening.

I hope I’m wrong in expecting this to be a fast moving process, but considering how everything has been and how shitty Beaner’s offensive hires have been I still believe getting someone like Briles is too good to be true.

Many thanks to Donati for making this happen. It’s crazy what having a guy with legitimate AD experience can do for a football program.

Tanner would’ve probably told Shane to hire Elliot or Furrey before accidentally locking himself in a hot car.

It worries me a little how excited TCU fans are to get rid of him. Kind of like we say 1st down run up the middle, they say "failed bubble screen, followed by a slant".
