Muschamp is still the coach
Bobo could be Bill fricking Belichick and the team would suck.
Anything Muschamp touches turns to shite

so you are what some would call a "doubting thomas". would you agree with that assessment? you need to see the proof no matter what may be said?

I will say that i am exactly that myself. I dont care if joe brady was hired tomorrow. until i see wins it never happened.

His CSU offense was a top 3 ypg and was up tempo this past year. The ppg is what scares me. He had to e second most talented team in his conference and finished bottom 4 in scoring in the MWC. Recruiting wise I love it.

Indeed. Given that we're stuck with Muschamp and Tanner, having someone like Bobo with someone like Marshawn Lloyd coming in is about the best we can do and is about the only thing I can kind of be excited about.

So long as the General Assembly continues to elect 1 BOT member for each judicial district in SC, nothing will change. So long as there are no term limits to how long each BOT member can serve, nothing will change. And so long as there is no requirement that the BOT members from each judicial district have to have a degree from USC, nothing will change. The structure of our university's governing body allows worthless pieces of shite like Tanner and Muschamp to survive and prosper while our athletic department crumbles.

yes, I need to see it happen.
But since every OC the guy has hired has been a dud, I'm going to guess Bobo will too because Muschamp is cursed.

is this how all schools work?
IE; Clemson?

They seem to be doing it right.

This is where I need to pull back the reigns a little bit.

No doubt football always has been and always be the bread winner for our entire department.

However, our athletic department as a whole is pretty solid across the board. Our facilities in most sports have been vastly upgraded, we seem to do pretty well academically compared to our peers, and outside of the two most important sports, most of our athletic teams do pretty damn well.

Yes, we hired Tanner out of emotion because of how much was beloved. I didn't hate Tanner for bringing on Muschamp considering where the program was at and no one seemed to want the job. Yes, undoubtedly and indefensibly Tanner gave Muschamp that absurd buyout. But that's one bad decision by one man in the administration. Let's not condemn the entire athletic department for it or act like we're stuck with Tanner and Muschamp for 20 years because of the BOT.

Again, I totally understand everyone's frustration with Tanner and Muschamp... but I hate hyperbolic claims like "our entire athletic department" is crumbling.

We'll hire Chad Morris.
Muschamp will get fired next year.
Tanner will then promote Morris to head coach.

Good God no. I don't want any SEC team, especially you guys, to have to suffer through Chad Morris.

Nope. Clemson has 13 BOT members excluding the ex officio members. 7 are selected individually by the outgoing trustee and 6 are appointed by the legislature. There are no territorial restrictions to the 6 appointed by the legislature.

So you agree with this format?

Yes. Which is why we we've won that Palmetto Series thing every year since it's creation a few years back despite our football team getting crushed annually.

The University has acknowledged that Bobo is the new OC and his contract will be finalized at 2pm tomorrow. Also said Thomas Brown's contract will be amended as will Muschamp's contract.

Hearing that Muschamp is taking a pay cut to give assistants a pay raise across the board and that he will not be getting any form of extension at all beyond what is already in place.

Which means Muschamp was given a raise/extension and the buyout will still be $22mm next year

Hopefully this isn't injury report style contract amendment type stuff.
