One problem..we have no openings on defense.
And Georgia boards are shitting all over themselves about Bobo. They swear up and down Bobo will not take a job here and is going to Texas if they don't make room for him.

VZR is reporting it's done.

Well, well. Turns out this rumor is actually not a rumor at all. Looks like they're working on bringing Durkin on as a position coach.

Awesome!
As for the Bobo hire. I think Muschamp knows he has 1 year to fix it, so he is bringing in a guy who has a track record of doing a good job, but also has a relationship with several on staff. This hopefully will make the transition easier, especially if their terminology is similar. Bobo has developed David Greene, Stafford, and Murray. I know plenty can knock this hire, but it could work out very well

Sooooo..in other developments it looks like a very real possibility that we may be losing TRob to Old Dominion as a HC.
Durkin would likely take his place as DC if they go thru with that hire.

Was coming here to post this about TRob. I wouldn’t take the job if I’m him, but at the same time, if he gets fired after another crappy year with the entire staff next year, his stock will drop.
Durkin would be a great replacement.

Gotta take any HC job that you can at this point
Because unfortunately with what we have I don’t see a good team next year

Anybody know why Shawn Elliott was in town yesterday at the same time as Bobo?

Durkin as DC plus Bobo as OC is about as successful an off-season as you could realistically expect. Bobo is what he is, but Durkin is an excellent upgrade.

Maybe just visiting his family. They still live here full time.

Didn't realize that. Figured it might have been related to recruiting with the high school state championships going on last night and today.

That’s probably why, but his fam still lives in Lake Katherine, so he’s back a good bit. My wife and I saw them all at Halls back before the season.

State championship games are going on too. Idk if he has any recruits playing

At first I didn’t like the idea of Bobo, but after looking at some old video of his offenses at UGA I’m really hoping Bumb backs off and lets Bobo have 100% control of the offense.

I just don’t know how successful bobo can be here.... I’m still in the camp that thinks you can’t be conventional on offense here and have success. Our best years in history came from either the run and shoot days under Morrison, or spurriers time here.

In comparison to our current offense, Spurrier’s was pretty traditional. Just my opinion.
I’m gonna be cautiously optimistic with Bobo and what he will bring to the table. If the blocking schemes are more simplified than what we’ve had the last 4 years I think things will immediately get better overall.
Again, Boom is going to have to put his ego aside and leave the offense alone.

Wasn’t spurriers offense conventional?

Which may be where Bobo helps. His familiarity with Champ might be what champ needs to give an OC control.

Chapman’s QB is a Ga State commit.
Side note, I’m at the Dorman/DF game, and the Dorman QB is a player. Small, no big offers, but he’s a stud.
