regardless of what happens.
1.He had 2 years of blaming the talent level now these are his players. He cant use that as an excuse.
2.He has outstanding facilities now. He cant use that as a crutch anymore.
3. He is the one who came up with the "so what, now what" catchphrase. sayings are ok til they bite you in the arse.
Now i want to ask Muschamp.."So what, now what?"
Its really a rhetorical question because the guy has no damn clue how to fix what is ailing the team.
No respected Offensive coach will jump on the ship at this point.
After the loss saturday he actually said that "we arent that far off". He said that with absoutely no conviction.
He looked like a man beaten and battered. someone who knows the signs all to well of a coach about to go.
He may last one more year but i really dont see the point.
Caslen said he had better things to do with 18 million. Yes, he does. But that doesnt change the fact that if Muschamp stays and tanks we are one more year kicking the can down the road.
Lets say he does this again next year and he is canned. the buyout is probably 14 million.
In this day and age what is 4 million?

I still think Caslen's public comments were to initiate the boosters in raising the buyout. Essentially saying, I'm going to spend this 18 million elsewhere so if you want him gone, pony up. Keep in mind, the 18 million is after Dec 31 which means if we wait til that point we're really behind on finding a coach, unless they've been proactive and already have someone lined up. I imagine that they would, but the 18 million buyout would be all the way until Dec 31, 2020 IF I'm understanding it correct.
Either way, we're still up shite creek with no paddle which leads me to agree, what's a few million these days. If I put on AD shoes, I would be concerned with losing more revenue than that if Muschamp is retained.

Tanner needs to go first... before any head coaching search begins. IMO.

i cant agree more. if tanner is still around in one month then muschamp is getting another year.

If you fire Tanner, unfortunately you're guaranteeing another year of Muschamp regardless. No way we could hire a new AD and a new coach in the necessary time frame.

I'm okay with that... the sooner the process starts the better.

The writing is on the wall Tanner is gone. Muschamp is soon to follow.

btw, i am positive that sc will never pay muschamp the full buyout no matter when we let him go.
these buyouts have clauses in them that lowers the yearly payoff by the exact amount the fired head coach will make at his new employer.
so lets say we owe muschamp 3.8 million a year for 5 yrs but his new job as dc pays 1 million.
sc would then pay out 2.8 instead of 3.5 million over the course of the buyout period.
will isnt the type to sit at home and watch tv. he will get another job.

I agree.
At this point, I just want the process to start. It's obvious in my opinion that Muschamp is just a cancer that needs to go, and Tanner allowed such an atrocious deal to be made to keep this cancer that his head needs to be on the stick too. Unless something crazy is happening behind the scenes, I feel like a staff overhaul is the most likely option we see this year, with an AD search over the off season.
Then Muschamp is a dead man walking if the 2020 season starts off sour.

In order, this is how i see it playing out..
1. i expect mclendon and dillman to get canned.
2. We pay large dollars to get a new oc.
3. tanner will be let go over the summer. new a.d. will
be tasked with coming up with some names for a hc.
4. Carolina will go 5-7 next year and Muschamp will be
gone.
Caslen just needs a year to get his bearings and i think he makes some moves.

How would ya'll feel about Chad Morris?

Muschamp need to follow the dabo playbook and throw the Saban playbook out the window. dabo hired great OC and DC and now it just flows. I don't think a lot of people remember the problems clemsux had when was dabo sticking his nose in on the play calls. He now just sits back and takes the credit of what others do....

Muschamp is far too egotistical and stupid to learn anything from Dabo. Dabo might be many things that def urk me. But he def knows what he knows how to do and what he needs to pay the best to do for him.

Chad morris would be interesting. He saved Dabo. Clemson was having similar conversations in 2010 about letting go of Dabo and their AD. Dabo made some coordinator changes, hiring Chad Morris, and that program took off. I personally would welcome Chad Morris

I think Chad Morris is a bit safe. Would like to go after someone more aggressive but he'd be my bronze medal of OCs.

Speaking of Clemson
We should have hired Dan Radakovich over Tanner

I won’t argue credentials on the AD search, I hated that Hyman left. I don’t know who our candidates were. I don’t hate Tanner for many reasons, but if we do fire him, I really don’t want Edwards. If we do fire him, we need to spend some good money on a qualified AD
Posted on 11/18/19 at 10:18 pm to GamecockUltimate
I don’t think we had any candidates
We just hired Tanner
I just remember someone brought up Rad during my CT days. I said him, didn’t go well since most were pro tanner

Radakovich didn't do much at Tech, in all honesty. Not sure exactly how or why he was a big upgrade. He maintained/strengthened something already in the works at Clemmy. But his basketball and baseball programs aren't anything to get excited about.
I'd honestly rather bring back Hyman. That said, I expect Caslen to hire his own guy, and get out of the way. Seems to be his MO.

He still AD’d there for 6 years as well as had years prior to that working in the Athletic dept of other G5 schools (South Carolina and LSU)

Really couldn’t care less about this if we had their football success

I really hope so.
Because Brad Edwards doesn’t seem like his guy
