Seriously though. We took our best option. Muschamp could assemble a better staff and recruit better than any other option available. We missed on Herman and Kirby (everyone missed on Herman as he's staying put, and Kirby's #1 job he could ever want opened up.)
If Muschamp gets a good OC, his defense is going to be MUCH better than what we had last year, and we'll end up being more competitive. From the OC's I've heard he's going after, we have a good shot of landing them and they are good OC's.
Now it's time for the fans/players/incoming coaches to rally and build the best recruiting class possible.

If it makes y'all feel any better, Muschamp has had it out for A&M ever since he was DC at texas, so our series should spark up in intensity, at least

I can tell you people from an arkansas fan point of view. when we hired bert there was a portion of the fan base who hated the hire and still do to this day because it wasn't who they wanted. the best you can do is just support the guy and hope he works out. there can be a point after a few years that you can take a step back and say ya this guy isn't going to work out, but there is no need to be hoping and praising the guys failures just because you don't like the hire and want him fired. him losing is bad for South Carolina. for now you might as well support the guy and hope he wins.

Muschamp might turnout to be a great hire. He fits better here than at Florida. If he assembles the right staff he could be very good. He's got to find the right OC and then recruit his arse off.
From the way it appears so far, Muschamp is going after exceptionally strong recruiters that can coach ... that's a pretty good formula. And I do hope he learned a few valuable lessons during his time at UF.
IMHO it's imperative to end the process, make the name official, and get on the road recruiting. Find out where we stand, see if we can grab a few good ones and get some momentum going .... and roll with it.

I think Will is getting the short end of the stick with all the trash talking of him.
Will learned from his mistakes as head coach at Florida and with the right OC and staff, he will be different.

Honestly once all this talk about Muschamp happened, I whined about it for a little bit, I even got a little salty, and then as time passed I warmed up to the possibility that we could at least do something with him and I got over it.
It's done, it's happening, now I get to have some cynical laughs about it while also hoping for the best at the same time.
Muschamp I feel is going to be an awful hire, but I'm still going to remain a Gamecock fan through it all because...well, that's the team I love. Plain and simple.
I look forward to many more seasons of posting, laughing, melting, and hopefully celebrating with all of the people on the SEC Rant. As most of y'all know, this was my first season on the Rant. A real rough season for sure, but it was full of some crazy shite along the way.
Anyways, it's the beginning of a new era today! Let's make the most of it.

Well I will take any defense WM puts on the field over the limp wristed tackle fairies we had this year.
Our offense has always been meh... minus the Shaw years.
