I hear the Clark dude on 107.5 TheGame from time to time - he seems connecteded as well as one can be with the dynamic the current staff has in place regarding information.

quote:

sources have told .... over the past two days that Muschamp will return for the 2020 season, with no conditions attached as to the outcome of the season finale next Saturday.
what about the previous 4 seasons" results in the season finale? The 2015 Interim Staff had a better outcome playing a small forward who couldn't pass at QB than anything the current staff has managed in 4 seasons of trying.

quote:

Multiple sources that spoke to ... over the past 24 hours are of the belief that Caslen’s statement on Wednesday will be the final words from the president on the matter this season, and those same sources are confident that changes will be made going forward to prevent this from happening again.
...time will tell. I wouldn't lay any $$$ on it.
quote:

slip-ups in two areas Caslen said within his first two months on the job that were key for him: choosing his words more carefully, and creating conditions that will enable success.
This is all starting to feel like a Pat Conroy bizarre spinoff of The Great Santini

Pastides was a fantastic President, I feel blessed he was in charge when I was there. He did a lot of good for USC

We can’t expect to hold onto recruits when pretty much our entire fanbase is calling for a change.

Short of Tanner somehow announcing that he’s lured Urban Meyer to take over for Muschamp after the Clemson game, we’re going to lose recruits as a result of this controversy.

Firing a coach is ripping off a bandaid. We’ll lose talent and suffer for the next 2 years, but it has to be done if it means we’ll eventually be successful.

Or it’s just pointing out that the people above Muschamp are also doing a poor job currently. Had the BOT,AD, and president all made one statement together supporting Will, some recruits would be more firm . Will has to win more, we all agree this year has been bad, but his superiors haven’t helped

* I almost created a poll a few days ago asking who was doing a worse job at the moment.

-Caslen
-Tanner
-Bot
-Muschamp.

I think the answers would have been spread out a few days ago.

The whole thing is a shite show..

1. muschamp will get another year but won't to well next year because of lack of offensive talent..

2. Caslen has an ego bigger than muschamps and let's his wife talk.

3. Tanner is a hillbilly coach in a suit..

I long for the days of hyman and pastides..

My point is that even if Caslen and Tanner hadn’t sharted their pants this past week, recruits are going to de-commit and players are going to enter the transfer portal the second Muschamp is fired.

It sucks, but I’d sacrifice signing Marshawn Lloyd if it meant we’d be successful in 3 years.
That’s what would happen if Muschamp were to be fired after the Clemson game.

Caslen isn’t helping anything, but if we’re going to keep Muschamp for next year, he can restore goodwill with fans and alumni if he just gets rid of Tanner already IMO.

I agree not being on the same page hurt us and shows that the BOT and Caslen are not working together. The different statements haven't been helpful but it doesn't change the narritive. Kids want to play for winners and they know when a coach is on the hotseat.

And I don’t disagree that Will being on the fans hotseat makes kids think, but kids get to thinking about elsewhere even more so when the university seems to not know if he will be back. That’s the reason for a statement of support for now

I think its to late to walk words back once they are out there. The damage is done. If Will gets trounced by clempson he should be done also.

If thats really why he isnt coming here then probably best for us because he would be the type to hit the portal quick.

Haley’s former communications director*.

A bit of a difference.

Haley is too busy on her 2024 presidential campaign run.

I don’t care what 2 recruits think about the University President anymore than I care what a goat in Wyoming eats for breakfast.

Caslen needs to clean the bitch assedness out of all parts of the University and if that bothers a couple of recruits then they don’t belong here. I don’t care about Muschamp - I was a graduate/fan before him and I will be a fan/graduate long after he leaves. I care about the long term sustained success of our athletic department with 90% of that interest being in the football program. Muschamp ain’t the one. If losing two recruits means we replace him with someone who is better for us long term then that’s an addition by subtraction. Besides, how many of his recruits have panned out anyways? Edwards, Deebo (for like 15 games), and Kinlaw (who will be a pro then collegian). Who else? Hurst maybe, but he was coming here anyways.

Florida fans were not happy and showed concern when we got Spurrier. They laughed if they gave a damn at all about us getting Muschamp. That should have told you everything. Guys don’t fail at one P5 program and go on to more success at another one in the same conference.

Muschamp’s last season is next season. Caslen will clear him, Tanner, and probably Frank out and give the new AD a blank slate.

Depending on how he does in year 2, the first coaching call needs to be to Joe Brady. Lower salary for him, but tell him he can hire any DC and any S&C he wants, money ain’t a problem.
