It's expected for us to win, and this is what concerns me.

Plus I swear to Christ we're cursed when it comes to backup QBs

Same here. We should win, but they do have some talent. Really depends on whether they have mailed it in or not.

This game has all the characteristics of the classic "South Carolina just shite its pants" embarrassment.

We're coming off a big confidence-building win, no one is expecting shite out of Tennessee, and their coach is fighting for his job.

I, for one, am not feeling good about this.

This game can decide the SEC East as long as they remember that they will take care of business. If they go out there taking tenn light that's when shite will go south

It kinda feels like Pre-Kentucky lite

A bit more cautiously optimistic, but more of that "oh god this is a perfect storm for disaster" feeling

I'll be shocked if Carolina can win this. Perfect storm.

We have never in our history played well in Knoxville. Our two wins have been nail biters, and we've lost our share we had no business losing. Jesus, one year a punter basically beat us. In my mind, we are never the favorite or expected to win up there.

This is the same setup as the 2013 game.

I won't be shocked at all if we win. I feel like we are supposed to at this point, but I am nervous that we won't play even an average game and could lose.

On a side note, VolNation has been a very fun read this week.

They aren't sure if they should pull for the team or lose so Butch is gone

What is with them (and all Vols) and Jon Gruden? Everytime they talk about a new coach, it is Jon Gruden.

Vol fans are an incestuous bunch. They have struggled hiring "outside the orange," and want a link that ties back to successful days gone by. Gruden and Peyton represent a call back to success. Lane, Dooley, and Butch have all been flops.

The reasonable ones know Gruden is a pipe dream. There just aren't many reasonable ones.

It does have that sort of vibe. USC should absolutely win this game. The closer game day gets the more obvious it is that right now the Gamecocks are a better team then the Vols are.

Which is worrisome as an Arkanas, South Carolina, or Missouri type fan. The big statement games where our programs really have a chance to put their thang down tend to end in heartbreak.

I think South Carolina wins, your team has a lot more fight in them then the Vols do, but I've been there a few too many times to be really confident.

We're all depending on SC to take one for the team and lay down in this one to help the Vols retain Butch

This can't come without sacrifice.

A certain sacrifice in Athens in early November. Specifically November 4th.

Tennessee is a 2.5 point favorite so I’m not sure who all is saying that we are suppose to win this game.
To me it all comes down to the crowd. From what I’ve heard in Vol country nobody wants to go to an early kickoff to see another embarrassment like they saw a couple of weeks ago against UGA. Tickets are so easily available that the university is offering every student 8 tickets just to fill seats.
Without the crowd Tennessee loses their home field advantage. All we have to do is limit our mistakes and capitalize on Tennessee’s and we can pull off an away conference win on Saturday.

it all comes down to roper. I don't see this defense doing enough to give the game away.

Lyle issued a statement that, "It's going to take everything we have to stop South Carolina."

We. Are. Screwed.
