Forgot these two already squared off in the Sugar Bowl just 4 years ago. When Herman was the OC at OH State.
Cardale Jones passed for 243 yards, Ezekiel Elliot ran for 230, and the 42 points scored on Kirby's defense were nearly double the total points alabama had allowed all season.
Anyway, they apparently became bros afterwards and relationship has reshaped a lot of what Kirby does.
Here's a pretty interesting read about it: LINK.........

Good insight. Fortunately Texas doesn't have the level of talent that OSU team did.

And Georgia doesn't quite have the talent that the Bama team did.
Spread is a good equalizer too.

Herman had the benefit of a roster almost entirely made up of NFL draft picks. That tOSU team was loaded.

Yep.
Yet they were still the 4th seed going up against equally loaded #1 ranked Bama.

Georgia's defense this year is every bit as good as ours was in 2014. That was a group that was athletically challenged at LB, couldn't get pass rush up front and was playing with a 1-legged Eddie Jackson at CB (with no better options behind him). We'd been torched by Auburn and 600+ yards already that year. Probably less NFL players on that starting defense than any we've had since 2007. DJ Pettway, Nick Perry, Denzel Devall, Trey DePriest, Xzavier Dickson and a hobbled Eddie Jackson. Then, Reggie Ragland got hurt and Shaun Dion Hamilton (a true freshman at the time) had to come in to play the 2nd half. It wasn't good.
And that Ohio State offense was looooooooooooooaded. I remember going into that game pretty overconfident and walking back from the Superdome thinking we'd lost to a team that was clearly better than us, both as a team and talent wise.
