Define "set back", as LSU is back to being who they always were pre-Saban.

And Tennersee says a $25 million buyout for Butchie and the entire staff combined

How much is Butch's buyout?

We probably won't make a bowl until about 2020.

Regardless, it’s safe to say if Jones is terminated, he would get between $6 million and $8 million from Tennessee. Not only that, UT defensive coordinator Bob Shoop makes about $1.1 million a year and the other nine assistants combine to make just under $4 million. Purging the entire staff would run the bill up to between $11 million and $13 million. Then there is the issue of trying to hire a big-name coach ($5 million a season?), paying his buyout ($3 million-plus?) and hiring a new staff (maybe between $5 million and $6 million?). The price tag for firing your current coach and hiring a new one and his staff with potential buyouts could exceed $25 million.

I'd say 2023
It will take you awhile to rebuild after Alabama, Auburn, UGA, etc poach all the talent from Louisiana for the next few years

This is LSU....it shouldn't matter if they hired Bozo the Clown as their HC, there is no way it should have got this bad, this quick. There is still talent at LSU, and no matter how good Troy played, they should never be able compete with a top tier SEC team. There has to be some serious internal issues. This is embarrassing as SEC fan.
Dammit LSU, get your shite together!

This is assuming literally ZERO of the assistants are retained or get hired somewhere else you stupid frick.
Good Lord, I wish someone had kicked your mother in the stomach during her first trimester.

It is shocking how quickly it all fell apart.
LSU will recover.
And Troy has the biggest win in their history.

If the staff is as bad as Tennessee fan's are making them out to be, this is a possibility.

Ole Miss recovered from the O years somewhat nicely with a really good team in 2008.
LSU will survive if they get out of the contract by next year.
