Why do the efficiency ratings not like Arkansas?

Serious question. I've not watched Arkansas play yet this year, but these rating systems appear to be severely underrating them based on their resume, IMO.

Here are where the Hogs rank in several of these metrics:

ESPN FPI: #20
SP+: #32
FEI: #40

I know there is some preseason bias still baked into these things, but with each passing week that bias should diminish.

I've not watched Arkansas at all this year, so is there any weakness that is causing these low rankings? All I know is they pounded Texas, yet Texas is still ranked #11, #22, and #11, respectively, in these same rating systems.

bias regarding the past, would be my best guess.

It is ok, we haven't done anything..... Yet...

IMO that isn't really that off as a whole so far. I think this team is in the 20-30 range. Winning this weekend will change my mind but need to see KJ be more consistent for it to be a top 20 team.

This three game stretch will tell alot, you could argue that 1-2 is a good result.

I’m going to be honest- we are pretty good but we’re not great- I think anyway.

The FPI & Sagarin & Others have some portion of the prior year in the calculation early in the year. As the year goes along, it changes every game. Idk the exact calculation..

It’s stupid.. but it would also be stupid to just base it on 3 games. Rankings don’t mean much until later in the season.. which is also true for the polls.
