Please take a moment in your day today to remember the fallen US Marines and US Navy Corpsman who lost their life in defense of the evacuation of Kabul.
Thanks everyone and God Bless America!

Prayers to the brave soldiers who lost their lives and also the families. I couldn’t imagine getting the news that they have received or are going to receive. Just sick about this.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'”

Giving the news is just as traumatic a duty. Heartbreaking.
That said, this is very close to home for a variety of reasons I don't care to expound on here.
A Soldier's (insert appropriate service member term) death is never easy, but history shows those that stand out the most in terms of heart wrenching are the ones in a draw down/end of war situation.
Absolutely heartbreaking. The sailor(s) /Marines lost in defense of freedoms and support for the safe evacuation of allies, friends, and others are absolute heroes. No death is good for those that are left to mourn the loss, but a death in defense of others is always admirable.
God bless them all; rest easy as unburdened souls.

My brother in law was a security contractor in Afghanistan for 4 years. He got blown up in Kabul three days after reupping. Thankfully he lived. Talked to him yesterday and he has several Afghan buddies that are stranded over there. It's a frickin shame and very sad.

I was a CAO (Casualty Assistance Officer) for a time and it’s a terrible duty, plain and simple.

Boz, that has to be one of the worst duties in the military. (I’m sure rank wise it’s given to the most trusted and worthy). I don’t believe I could do that. I’m not sure that I’m strong enough

I didn’t enjoy it at all. They typically only pick people with 7+ years in and at least 1 deployment. Basically didn’t want anyone who could cause an issue from lack of experience in the Army. I’ve done basically every part from notifications to being an escort from Dover AFB to whichever destination the service member was to be buried to include funeral honors.
This entire situation in Afghanistan has me sick and pacing all day quite frankly.

God bless all the military personnel involved. God be with all their family members and friends.
God be with all those trapped and trying to get out.
