"the rings are placed under the curse of the seal."

"the student dips their ring in water from the President’s fountain which removes the curse, but leaves the Auburn spirit behind to live on in the ring"

If Alabama's a cult, please tell us what this is...and we don't give a damn whether or not your friends have class rings.
Don't be a hypocrite.

So this is a common practice at Auburn ? This is done by a many students ?

Never heard of the ritual, never knew anyone even who owns a class ring and never read about it in the news. :rotflmao:

But I have witness the Bama Cult behavior first hand. So have many on this site. :rotflmao:

Better than God to Saban, I suppose.

Bull shite. Nobody from AU has ever heard of it. I know multiple generation of graduates and nobody has ever heard of it. Now we all know of the Bama Cult rituals.

PS I don't take orders from straphangers.

I did notice back in 2012 during the BAMA vs LSU national championship telecast that ABC gave a lot of attention to the Cajun voodoo stuff during commercial breaks.

21 to 0 and 92 total yards later, I think the Cajuns should have asked for their money back.

I wanted to say the Lane Train spread, but we run more of a pistol RPO style now. So I just stuck with Saban because he saw how it was killing his defenses and had the foresight to adapt.

Fact is whoever Satan hires you can bet they wont stay long.

Good sampling, mainly because I graduated from AU and never heard of this behavior. Never saw anyone with a class ring from College except those who attended the Service Academies. I know they perform ceremonies when they present their rings. I guess you think they belong to a cult also.

the rings are left on the Auburn seal from 1856, or 6:56 PM, until the current graduation year. This symbolizes the rings absorbing all of Auburn’s history from founding to present. This also means that the rings are placed under the curse of the seal.

A few days later at the Ring Ceremony, the student dips their ring in water from the President’s fountain which removes the curse, but leaves the Auburn spirit behind to live on in the ring and in the heart of its owner forevermore.

What. The. frick.

Seriously.

That was the problem!

Can't use Voodoo. That's for protection.

Needed to use Hoodoo: the Dark Arts version for curses and shite.

The Ring Ceremony, a UA tradition held each spring, is a special two-part ceremony that begins at Denny Chimes. UA students and alumni who order official class rings and choose to participate in the ceremony will first have their rings placed in the 115-foot tall, 92-year-old bell tower for 24 hours. According to tradition, the rings become “infused with the UA spirit” during this time. On April 5, the UA Army ROTC will place a large mahogany box filled with class rings inside Denny Chimes, where the rings will remain, guarded by the UA Police Department, until 6:31 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6. The time is significant because it translates to 18:31 in military time; 1831 is the year of The University’s founding. Then, the rings will be retrieved from Denny Chimes and transported to the conference center for the second part of the Ring Ceremony, the presentation of the rings at Sellers Auditorium on April 7.

Auburn's ring ceremony is relatively new. I graduated in 1996, and had a ring, but the ceremony wasn't a thing until 2003 I think I read. I've known a several people who have graduated since then that didn't have rings or do that.

I think I had lost mine by about 2000 and hardly ever wore it.
