Otis said it Sunday and West has been hinting at it for a couple of days now.

I'm not up enough on recruiting, but apparently it will be pretty big news for Arkansas.

Anybody know who it could be?

I'd assume they are legit 4* guys.

Seeing as its arkansas sports media reporting a “huge commitment” coming I’m expecting a long snapper place kicker combo

I’d guess Chamblee and Jointer.

ETA: I went to 247 after posting this and apparently Wiltfong has said the same thing.

I hate being this guy but if getting a low 4 star and mid 3 star both from in state to commit is "HUGE" for us we suck at recruiting.

That being said I think Jointer's ranking will go up a good bit over the next 9 months.

Otis said they were "program changing". I don't recall him ever saying anything like that in the past, but it is Otis.

I think this is Otis and West buttering up the recruits and fanbase because this is one of the few times they were allowed to have the scoop on anything. This was the proverbial bone tossed their way to keep them compliant.

there’s no one out there who’s considering us right now that’s “program changing” so I can already tell you he’s full of shite. Outside of a 5 star qb or mayyybe 5 star running back or defensive lineman there aren’t any 1 guy program changers in football.

The fact that our recruiting "insiders" are pumping up two in-state guys (neither of which are the highest rated in the state), one a borderline 4* and the other a mid 3*, is all you need to know about the state of our program.

I'm convinced Chad Morris was the only guy who really understood recruiting at Arkansas. Too bad he's a fricking football Fukushima.

You’re convinced? After 1 class that hasn’t even panned out yet?

A class Pittman basically matched in an F-Ed up year?

If Pittman manages top 25 classes, how is that any different than we’ve ever been?

Convinced Chad Morris understood Arkansas recruiting?

You say outlandish shite all the time but this takes the cake.

Have you paid attention to the classes Morris signed after the ink dried and how those stars assigned to players have actually performed?

Chad knew to hit East Texas harder than anywhere else and he closed the most talented class we've had in 10+ yrs. It had like 10 or 11 4* prospects, including Catalon (a future 1st or 2nd Rd pick) and Burks (also a possible 1st or 2nd rounder, although his knees may drop him).

To say the man did not know where and how to recruit is just silly. He just had no idea how to run a program and what to do with the talent once it actually got to campus.

I'm just being objective here.

Only reason Chad got Catalon was Chad's sister is the Mansfield Legacy girls basketball coach where Jalen went to HS and Chad allowed his brother Kendall to transfer here from Southern. We all knew about Burks his entire HS career since 8th-9th grade.

Look deeper at those 10 or 11 4*'s.

2018 Recruiting Class

89-grade 4-stars
4* Bumper Pool - actually productive
4* Connor Noland - went baseball only after 1 season

Myles Mason - transferred to Louisiana Tech
Dorian Gerald - a career of injuries with 1 year left
Billy Ferrell - bounced to JUCO and now UTSA
Mike Woods - starter as no. 2/3 WR
LaDarrius Bishop - depth but nothing noteworthy
Joe Foucha - starter
Courtre Alexander - transferred to 2 JUCOs
Nick Fulwider - hasn't played much
Noah Gatlin - has started/backup when not injured
Isaiah Nichols - rotation player
Rakeem Boyd - couldn't get on track final year
Ryan Winkel - depth
Andrew Parker - special teams
John Stephen Jones - clipboard
Silas Robinson - transferred Texas State

2019 Recruiting Class

mid 90-grade 4-stars
4* Treylon Burks - star
4* Hudson Henry - backup TE

90/91-grade 4-stars
4* Trey Knox - no.4/5 WR
4* Devin Bush - special teams
4* Jalen Catalon - star

89-grade 4-stars
4* Collin Clay - transferred to Oklahoma State
4* Mataio Soli - rotation player
4* KJ Jefferson - likely starter as RSO
4* Greg Brooks - nickel starter
4* TQ Jackson - transferred to SMU
4* Shamar Nash - transferred to Memphis

Zach Williams - rotation player
Eric Gregory - rotation player
Ricky Stromberg - starter
Enoch Jackson - depth
Zach Zimos - depth/special teams
Taurean Carter - depth
Beaux Limmer - backup interior lineman
A'Montae Spivey - transferred to JUCO
Chibueze Nwanna - transferred to lower classification
Malik Chavis - depth/special teams
Myron Cunningham - starter
Brady Lathan - starter
Marcus Miller - depth
Dylan Rathcke - depth

transfers
Kendall Catalon - Jalen's brother
Jake Yurachek - AD's son
Jared Sackett - didn't kick a ball here
Luke Jones - depth
Trelon Smith - starter
Nick Starkel - transferred to San Jose State
Ben Hicks - starter then benched

I think you're right. The only way that makes sense is if Trevor Lawrence transfers to Arkansas and that might be program changing for Clemson. That clearly isn't happening.

Burks is from Arkansas and would have played for Jimmie Dykes coaching the team.

What does that have to do with East Texas?

Who else besides those two have even contributed at a significant level yet?
