Irwin lobbying hard for Leach

On tv, he flat out stated that Leach may not even come now because he may get a new contract at Wazzu, but he said he has a connection to Leach and he wanted the job 2 yrs ago.
He said that the Arkansas folks called Texas Tech ppl in 2017 and they bad mouthed him so he got no interview. He said it was because Leach was no PC, and the liberal academia hated him for that... It wasn't all about Craig James kid.
Also said Arkansas would have to hire a mega d cokrdinator and pay big bucks b/c Leach does not care about D at all.
Caveat on all of this is that there is no Air Raid qb on the roster.
Apparently Starkel is going to "try the NFL"

Irwin has moments, but this sounds just like when he got played by Mustains mom. Irwin's ego is as big as Nutt's and he can't see when he's being played because of his ego.

He was a GA for Leach but was a GA before that as well. He got his first real coaching job at Houston under Briles

Irwin said there was no way Leach would leave TTU for Arkansas when his name was brought up to replace Nutt on message boards back in the day.
He's been a huge Leach fan since he was coaching his alma mater.

He’s a sacred cow over at tardville. Bert would still be coach if he was in charge.
Having said that Leach would be fine with me.
