So OSU has finally caught us in the polls. Speaking for myself (maybe others) this is what gets me so fired up when we don’t dominate like we should during the course of a game. We all know OSU is a media darling and If it was a close call for playoff voting they would get the nod over us because of flash/style points. I know “just keep winning and it will all work out..blah,blah,blah” but I would rather not be on the outside looking in the first week of voting and relying on some other team to falter. We need to come out of the gates smoking and start acting like a powerhouse. .

You sound like an LSU fan. Right now the polls don't matter. If Georgia is legit, they will be top 4 mid December

You say blah, blah, blah, but literally winning is all that matters.

We win out and win in ATL then it won’t matter.

If we don’t...it doesn’t matter.

We truly control our own destiny.

I wish I cared about anything as much as the way some of you care about Justin Fields and Ohio State.

Just fricking win. Can we win out? I don’t know. But that’s your answer; Just win.

So you think our OL has played up to expectation? Defense seems a bit leaky considering the talent and defensive emphasis on our staff.

I’m referring more to the ability To pick up the 1yd for a first down when needed. That should NEVER be a problem. The quick throws help the sack numbers.

Win. Don’t lose and it doesn’t matter. Having a team that is top 10 in both offense and defense efficiency says a lot. A fg kicker that hasn’t missed. A QB that hasn’t thrown an interception. 3 healthy running backs averaging 4+ yards a run and a top 5 run defense.

To this point, it hasn’t been full of sexy big plays. It’s always disappointing to not convert or go three and out or to not come out gang busters. We are that really cute girl that gets hot her senior year. The way we are playing gives us lots of upside and the opportunity to play with anybody.

They can’t just pump SEC schools and Clemson. It’s bad for business. OSU is good and better with Fields.

The odds of us getting in with one loss are pretty small, regardless of how sexy our wins are.

Clemson is all but in. SEC SHOULD be us versus LSU or Bama...but we have business to handle. You have to put money on OSU and OK at this point.

My only real gripe with this coaching staff is that as it does seem like our heavily scripted series tend to fall flat. We have played much better on the move.

I just hope we stay healthy.

If we fail to win the SECCG and have to rely on the Playoff Committee to compare us to another team, then we deserve to miss out. Win our conference and we're in.

I quit caring about that quitter the day he turned his back on the team.

Fwiw we are 7th in margin of victory and the only team to play (best) another team in the top 10 in that category.

This.

All I care about right now is beating SCAR. And how our players are doing healing up, like Davis.

Side note: I’m digging Herrien’s smash mouth, no quit running. Zeus looking good too. Should have used him on that 4 and 1.

everyone saying "just win" or "it doesn't matter" is correct, obviously, although scenarios do exist where something like this will matter for teams in the #4 spot.

however, i like to consume cfb content throughout the season and poll movement/behavior is incredibly interesting to me.

i just simply do not understand poll logic. why is clemson #2? why was auburn like #7 last week when their resume was ridiculous. same question for florida now. teams have played 5-6 games now, there is enough data out there to value resumes and what has actually happened.

i also just don't comprehend the "best" vs. "most deserving" argument. the most deserving teams should absolutely be the ones ranked higher. this should not be a question, and yet somehow it is.

the committee has gotten everything right so far, though, so there isn't a lot of reason to worry. i just like following it and find it really interesting to discuss.

A question to ponder:

Maybe Coley shouldn't insist that Fromm be in the shotgun on those short yardage plays.

God. It’s almost like it’s Pittman’s blocking scheme or something. Like it doesn’t lend itself to blowing people off the ball and being a 3 yards and a cloud of dust style. Arkansas had a lot of trouble with it when he was there too. It’s like it’s designed to create rushing lanes instead of just pushing people backwards. Nah, it’s just that “we ain’t playing nothing like we’re s’posed to and ain’t worth a durn without muh Fields”...

The polls don’t matter.

But I do think it’s weird they ended up tied... if you understand how the polls calculated; it’s hard to have ties; it’s an anomaly..

UGA has 3 first place votes this = 75 points..

OSU has 10 that’s 250 points..

So voters must have UGA listed at second a lot and then OSU must be out of some voters top 5... it’s just a weird total
