soft lob answers...

"Morris is the right coach for this program"

"I know where this program was when Morris took it over, and I see the day to day changes"

"We are headed in the right direction, the work ethic, almost 75 red shirt freshmen and sophs, we are asking them to do so much for their youth, we are not prepared to turn the corner yet, but we are early in a season"

Define success: "That we continue to show that we are competing and that we are getting better and showing progression during the season"

An AD isn’t going to get up there and drag his coach through the mud. He will defend him right up to the time he decides to fire him. It’s what they do. It’s politics.

The program should never have gotten down so low that we would lose to a San Jose, but it was already bottomed when Morris got here. He didn't put it there.

That said, he doesn't have much time to pull it up. As with Beleima, the thorn is the offensive line. Weakness there affects every aspect of the team, offense obviously, defense by not keeping them off the field and not scoring points, special teams by losing field position battles.

Until that is fixed, we are not going to be competitive. And even though we are starting a true freshman, you can't do that and expect to be strong there. You shouldn't see an O lineman on the field until they are a redshirt soph at the youngest (in general, there is a rare occasion.)

It is going to take a bit to correct our shortcomings there. I don't know if he will have time enough to get it done.

What you are saying is true as it pertains to winning in the sec. but the deal is San Jose state isn’t just a greater 5 team they are arguably the worst fbs school in the country. They went 1-11 last year and just got beat by Tulsa. The talent gap between us and them isn’t in the same universe and with talent like that it shouldn’t matter who you start you should be able to impose your will

Exactly, my first reaction was that Hunter was way to nice about it all but he really doesn't have a choice at this point. We are too early in the season for him to be even subtly ripping the coach. If he gave this type of response after Week 10 and only 2 wins, I'll be very concerned.
