Dude was probably tired, said he flew up from Dallas for a visit Saturday and Sunday, decided Monday and then flew back for class on Tuesday. Seems like a good kid, ready to see him get involved.

Seems really calm to me.
The most positive thing i got from that was he mentioned it will be his job to share his knowledge of the offense.

That last sentence is exactly why I think Chad wanted him regardless of what Buechele was going to do. He has one year with either guy, he doesn’t really have time for them to learn and get comfortable in the offense. Hicks knows it day 1, and he can help the rest of the offense as well.

He has 2 with buechele. Which is why he was the better choice no matter what. He ran a similar system his freshman year, and would have this one, and another to prepare. I doubt kj is ready in one year.

I had classes with him back then and he really was that laid back.
As the famous story goes a tornado hit his home and his father ran upstairs to check on him. He'd slept through the whole thing despite it tearing the roof off the house. Matt agreed, yes the roof is off the house, and then rolled back over and went to sleep.
I would have hated to play cards with him. Whether the pot was 3 bucks or a million he'd still have the exact same expression on his face. Like he was about to doze off at any minute.

Dude knew he was better than most players on the field. If MJ wanted a beer, he got a damn beer.
I miss seeing that dude outrunning CB's and safeties down the sidelines. Just a freak athlete.

He didn't play cards, or at least not in the traditional way.
I had an old rommmate who was a high school all star the same time Jones was and they were all staying in a hotel the night before playing in an exhibition game, and he said they all went to Jones' room to see if he wanted to come socialize with them, and he said all Jones wanted to do was play Dungeons and Dragons with a couple of nerds he found.
