How many times in the BCS did your team miss the NCG but would've been in the playoffs?

Under the new format.

Curious how many there were, especially among LSU, Auburn, Florida and Alabama

For Georgia, there was only one in 2002 going by the BCS standings. Would've been 3rd and played OSU. The BCS had us 5th in 2007 right behind Oklahoma, so that might have been a toss up under a committee. Also may have had a shot in 2012, but for some reason the BCS moved us from 3rd down to 7th after that SECCG.

There had to be a couple of seasons where you almost could've had 3 SEC team's making it.

LSU was ranked #4 in the final BCS poll in 2006. That was the only year. In 2005, they were #4 heading to the SECCG but lost to UGA and fell to 9th

You’re right I don’t know why I got that wrong, I must have just read preseason on that one. Just 3 for UF 01,09,12

I wonder which team LSU fans would have said should have been in over Alabama in 2011.
I assume their favorite, Oklahoma State, would have been in, but who would have been 4th or 5th? Was Arkansas a legit choice?

2006

The 4 playoff system would have been pretty fun a lot of years.

2006 would have been 1. OSU v. 4. LSU
2. Florida v. 3. Michigan. I think It is an LSU Florida rematch in the NCG.

2012. We finished #3 in the BCS. Alabama would've probably destroyed us in the semi.
We were also BCS #5 in 01 and 09. Who knows what the committee would've done.

Pretty sure the committee would've picked Oregon since they beat them handily in Palo Alto and won the P12.

1984.

And what year did we finish 4th in? I think it was 2013, but we went into bowl season like 8th or 9th with 2 losses so probably not.

You're probably right, I just looked at the BCS standings from the end of the year since the committee picks have pretty much lined up with what the BCS would have looked like. That almost would have been like OSU/PSU in 2016 but that game was a lot closer

I think the committee would have given us the nod in 99 (SEC Champs) and in 13, but in 08 I think they would have put us on the outside.
