the better question is: Is Jalen hurts a better passer than anyone?

I don't think this is necessarily true at all.

Hurts had the worst QB rating of any QB in the Saban era for one game in the AU game this past year. Literally did the opposite of what he was supposed to do (in accordance to where he was supposed to roll with the blocking schemes... etc) pretty much every time. It was a disaster and come-apart of epic proportions.

We'd need to see Mac against the 1's.

We didn't. Remember Tua lit up the 2's last A-day. Then they put him up against the 1's and he didn't look anywhere near as good.

Yeah. I was hoping Saban would swap them out for at least one quarter.

Regardless, though, Jalen simply did not look like he had progressed at all since last season.

Jones is still rough, but he read coverages and got the ball out quickly and fairly accurately. He still has a place on the team, whether at another position or in goal line packages.

Mac Jones is better than Greg McElroy ever was. Saban can win with an average QB like Jones. Teams learned Hurts can't handle a defense that crowds the LOS - and that's the end of his career as a QB.

eta - As soon as Jalen backpedals to his right when he's looking for a receiver he's done. That one fault in his downfield reads is a career-ender.

He should seriously consider a position switch like Braxton Miller did at Ohio State. Hurts is a good enough athlete to be an impact slot receiver

Great example.

I don't believe he'll ever have a long-term career (as in profession) as a QB. However, he has great numbers - 4.48 speed last spring, 6'2", 210, and is strong as hell.

I'd like to see him put one year into a different role and see where it leads him. I'm not sure where he is in terms of graduating - I thought it is after the fall - so it actually makes sense to stay and try something different, rather than sit for a year.

And if it doesn't work out . . . transfer next year and play immediately as a grad. student.

Real question would be is Zues a better poster than Thomas Brown? Or are they 1 and the same?

If Mac played vs the ones he would also being play with the 1st team offense, not the second team offense.

Tua looked pretty good against Jawja's 1's.

Outside of real games? Maybe not.

In real games when it matters? We'll see. But in real games my $ would be on Jones.

Remember we did get to 2 National Championships with Jalen as "bad" as you think he is. Baker Mayfield who everyone thought was so awesome couldn't beat Georgia. You guys will fap to anything.

Hurts at Georgia Tech would be fun to watch. He could thrive in that offense.

He did something stupid and got a dui... but you may as well say he's into indentity theft cause he had an improper id too.

Its kind of foolish to say Jones is better than hurts in any aspect especially since hurts has played against sec defenses. Hopefully Mac can stay sober enough for us to find out down the line .

No its not.

Mac threw a better ball yesterday. Now does that mean he can be effective in crunch time? Only get that answer in crunch time.

But in his A-Day game yesterday, he looked better than the QB who has 2 years of crunch time under his belt.

Sad statement from someone who questioned Bama fans loyalty for having concerns about Avery Johnson's performance this past season.

Be better than that.
