We've all heard Freebird and Can't You See 2 billion times -- and for good reason, they're essential classics to the genre.

Stepping outside that Christmas globe shaker sized bubble, what are some of the best alternative/lesser known/ southern rockish songs?

Drive-By-Tuckers: Decoration Day, Outfit, Where The Devil Don't Stay, God Damn Lonely Love, Zip City.

Deer Tick: 20 Miles, Ashamed.

Diamond Rugs: Country Mile

Houndmouth: Penitentiary, Houston Train, Black Gold

Jason Isbell: Razor Town

Uncle Tupelo: Graveyard Shift, Screen Door

Wilco: I Hate It Hear

Kings (of Leon): Talahina Sky (alternate b-side version), Trani, Molly's Hangover (not Molly's Chamber).

Sturgill Simpson: In Bloom

My Morning Jacket: The Bear

The keys on Skynyrd's version give me a priapism.

Jesus, Second Helping is such a good album. Every single song rocks.

Workin' for MCA sounds like Black Sabbath meets the swamps.

But the live versions from 'One More .......' are 500% better than the studio versions.

Blue Sky

The best live version (with Skydog!) of Blue Sky.

Probably the best dual guitar work, ever. But I say that about every OG ABB song.

Don't be a bone.

shite is meant for other people to contribute. Be douchie and a strange waste of time to sit here and make a catalog of all the songs I like from these bands and others.
