I am just going to put this out there… not a damn thing wrong with running up the score

All these folks complaining about UGA running up the score need to get a tampon and take some ibuprofen. It is not poor sportsmanship to dominate someone in a sport. That’s the whole idea. I mean, would anyone fault a tennis player for winning Wimbledon in straight sets 6-0 every set? Hell no! Would anyone fault a golfer for winning a tournament by 10 strokes? Hell no! It’s the same damn thing! If you don’t like getting beat like TCU got beat, then stop UGA from scoring so much!

I agree and ill never rail a team over it. It does hurt when its your team. I do believe there is a difference between running up the score in a meaningful game vs running it up on a helpless team.

The issue that I have with the debate is that UGA had backups in.

And the play calls were run, run, pass. Or run, run, run.

It was literally running. Scoring just happened because TCU players quit on their coaches after the coaches left TCU so unprepared.

If the losing team has their starters in, is going for it on 4th down and still throwing the ball, then they can get fricked. If you don’t want the score run up on you, you have to lay down first. Not the team beating your arse.

While I agree to an extent, running up the score implies a purposeful effort to embarrass the other team. We took our starters out at the beginning of the 4th quarter and ran the ball to bleed the clock except for a few 3rd down pass attempts. When we had the ball with about 2 minutes left in the game, we took knees to end the game.

It could've been a lot worse than it was.

You should have class and respect for your opponent and not run up the score if at all possible.

Not relevant to last night, as Georgia wasn't running up the score. Their starting QB left the game when there was still time left in the 3rd quarter.

I actually respect Dykes for fighting to the end. As a player, I would respect that more than just dinking and dunking together 15+ play drives that eat clock.

TCU never quit on an opponent all year.

I think it would’ve been more embarrassing for TCU if they had just canceled the entire 4th quarter

I agree. For UGA to have started taking knees with 8 minutes left would have been far more humiliating for TCU than the beat down they were getting

This is just not really the way things are in today’s game. Making a big statement is what is needed. I mean did anyone fault Wilt Chamberlain for scoring 100 pts? Hell no!

Bull$hit,

There are only so many games in each year or a college career, and THESE ARE AUDITIONS.

Especially at the NC level, this isn't LSU playing South Central High School, these are the best FCS schools supposedly.

You don't want the opposing team to run up the score, play Defense.

Agreed. It was backups. If i was a backup player and got to play in the natty, I'd give it 100% also. That shows up on film and I'd want to have a shot to start the next year.

As bad as it was, it would have been a lot worse if the officiating crew had called all the DPI and Holding calls that were obvious. I’m so tired of not just bad officiating but actual cheating by the Refs trying to play balance games. Call it both ways and call it fair.
