Leach is a HOF coach. Period.

I don't give a rats arse if he is 0.4% away from qualifying (he would have easily achieved that mark if not for this tragedy). Change the rule tonight if need be because his legacy goes way beyond a winning percentage.

I have never seen an entire sports community - many of whom fight and bicker every day - come together in their love and admiration of a coach that never coached their team.

Watching all the videos today at work of Mike Leach - I am not going to lie it made me tear up a little. The way he treated every person that interacted with him (fan or reporter) with the upmost respect and genuine curiosity of their life was done by none other than the Pirate himself.

Most coaches are like politicians - Coach Leach was not. He was always himself and was always genuine - whether you liked it or not. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, players, and our SEC brothers and sisters at Mississippi State. I will be a huge DAWG fan on Jan. 2nd and can't wait to watch your team rally for the legend and the great Mike Leach and I really hope all teams put on a pirate decal in his honor.

ehhh yeah i've heard the talk about that weird win rule they have, sure it would be nice for his family and to have that ceremony, but at the end of the day people will talk about him for decades and decades to come and that is enough in my book. if anything valdosta/wazzu/msst should create a mike leach hall of fame and only induct the most based coaches

Would be epic but I doubt Mike Leach and those universities see eye to eye on what is based

Yeah I just think his impact on how offense is played in football these days needs to be apart of the story of CFB in the HOF. As a Tennessee fan for one I know its impact because our coach who turned our dumpster fire around is a Mike Leach Disciple

He’s absolutely HOF.

When you think of Leach you automatically think of the greatest air raid in football history. Think of how many coaches and coordinators had to alter their defenses on Saturday just to keep pace with his air assault.

This still sucks so bad he’s gone

i mean if i were king of the HOF of course he would be in in a heartbeat. but if the fartsniffers that run it keep him out it will Streisand effect and merely increase his legacy

I don’t know if there is a coach that is loved by the college football world in the way Mike Leach is. Fans of every team seem to love him.

Wish we could’ve seen what he could do at Mississippi state. In terms of how his programs arc he still hadn’t got to his best years with state.

Leach was a breath of fresh air in today's world. Man, he's gonna be missed tremendously.

He's just an outstanding person with the most unique traits that are what made him the coach, person, husband, dad, and grandfather that he was. It's why everyone loved him. Losing him will leave a huge hole in college football and humanity.

One way of remembering him for years and years to come would be a fund large enough to provide a scholarship or scholarships on and on yearly bearing his name.

Just by seeing the support across the whole country tPirate needs to be in.

The man literally changed how the game we all love is played.

Absolute legend.

I may be wrong. And we will never know this unless he told friends-family……

But does he strike you as the guy that would want to be in the HOF or have an individual award?

If he did, then okay.
But I didn’t glean that from him.

They always say God broke the mold when he made certain people. With coach Leach there was no mold. It was ether, stars, comets, precious jewels and gems.
