This is the development I'm waiting to see play out. Big money boosters will have more control over the football program than ever before. A coach doesn't do what they want, the money dries up. The money dries up, they can't possibly compete for the best athletes.

Isn't that what schools like Florida and Auburn always complain about? Too much influence by the big-money boosters?

Isn't this why people claim Saban has been so successful at Alabama? Because he told them to all shut up and sit down?

He can't do that anymore. Not if he's going to get the money necessary to stay competitive. I think that, more than anything else, is why he's upset with NIL. He no longer has autonomy over the program.
