The scuttlebutt was that Steele wanted Bobo as his OC. If that was true, I'd say we would have had a season similar to the one we just had. Except, I bet the defense would have performed better in a couple games. Mason got better, and I applaud the defensive performance in the Iron Brown, but I don't think we lose that SC game with Steele calling defense.

We probably would’ve recruited a little better short term. Would’ve been a train wreck long term.

He called defense the year before and got beat with about the same defense. Maybe a little better one.

Yeah but our QB at the time threw like a million picks in that 2020 SC game

I'm not going to name him, lest the proletariat show up and accuse me of living in the past

We gave up 306 yards in 2021 vs 297 in 2020

And like you said 3 picks by our offense in 2020 meaning less potential yardage

Steele deserved his money.

Gus did not.

I will never forget Kevin Steele standing in front of a mic on signing day and bragging about almost getting a flip

Brown is an accurate description of the color produced by the defense in the 4th quarter.

Steele wanted either the Troy or JSU jobs. They did not want him. Let that sink in.

Bad take man.

Blame Mason on switching strategies on the final drive. The defense had arguably their best game of the season up until that last drive. He takes full responsibility there for shifting away from what worked all damn game.
