Well he also already lost to cincinatti, so tbh I don’t think he believed they would beat any of the playoff teams

It goes back to Saban/ SEC dominance. If you want a title you need to be in the SEC. And if you are scared and want to float gently down a river in a lesser conference, you do that. The SEC is Big Boys only. And imho, Kelly will build a monster here. He knows he’s a decade younger than Saban and sees a vacuum of power ahead and has the balls to believe it can be him. RESPEK.

ND's best wins are Wisconsin (8-4) and Purdue (7-5). No conference championship game and weak schedule means ND likely out.

I’d be shocked if he didn’t win a championship at LSU. I don’t see him building a dynasty though.

That hire took me by surprise. I don't much care for it, but it could work out well for them. But, yes. I was surprised by it being Kelly.

The committee would not have put a 2 loss Baylor or Iowa in front of them. Maybe Cincy but we’ve seen that story before. “Cincy is on the decline and ND is on the rise,” would be the explanation.

A Saban like “ dynasty” is always unlikely.We may not see it again in our lifetime. But definitely a guy who can and should be a consistent big winner every year and the 4th straight coach to win a championship at LSU.
