Wonder how is personality will mix with the Louisiana culture. Funny to imagine him going to see a recruits family in Algiers.

Totally agree. Kids hate talking to a literate person who's won more football games at Notre Dame than anyone else.

I really don't understand why folks keep bringing this up.

Both Saban and Miles were random Yankee coaches when they came to Louisiana and neither had anywhere close to the resume that Kelly has.

It’s not 1965 anymore. These kids will know who BK is and what he’s done and what he can do for them. This whole culture thing is overplayed.

He’s going to get absolutely mauled by Saban and Jimbo.

The honest LSU fans know this.

Gonna be fun.

ND is one of the broadest nationally recruiting schools in CFB. So, he's probably well practiced with his pitch regardless of cultural differences. I'm certain he'll somehow manage to recruit home state kids to the school the majority have grown up pulling for their entire lives.

Maybe keep Ed around as a translator from English to Cajun

A smart, Uber-experienced, no-bullshite hard-arse with a proven record of success will play very fricking good in Louisiana living rooms. The gumbo shite is cute but not one person really gives a frick about that as much as winning.

Meh, Saban is a Yankee and he is the best in the business. It is not just baws that are good at recruiting

[I have a strong to desire to see my son excel at football to the point where I can enjoy watching him play in the NFL and I am considering trusting you with getting him there but need some reassurance]

Kelly has convinced Louisiana kids to go to Notre Dame. He’ll have no problem getting them to stay home

Posted this yesterday. He’s a cultural misfit in the SEC. Just like Yankees Bert and Mullen and that Mountain West dude Harsin. You can scheme all you want but you better be able to go into Church Point LA and eat collard greens and gumbo and relate or Saban and Kirby will eat your lunch. Saban is from West Virginia but he’s a blue collar country boy at heart. Mommas and daddies know it.

Brian Kelly is the closer. It’s more important who he hires as his assistants/recruiters.
