I havent watched any sports network shows for a couple of years or the NFL. I took my son to lunch today at Buffalo Wild Wings and several networks were all discussing how good Mac Jones and the Patriots were. Dude was all over several different networks.
No mention of Joe Burrows. Reading this board I would have thought they would all be talking about Joe but it was all Mac. What gives?

I’ll take the bait.
You should have been watching three weeks ago when Burrow dismantled the Ravens and they were all over his nut sack. Jones is the flavor of the week. Good QB but it’s hard to compare a QBs going to one of the most solid grounded franchises of all time to another going to the Bengals.

Mac Jones is a baller. He already looks like one of the best QBs in the NFL, and is getting better every week. We'll see if he can keep up this pace, but the last few games the Patriots have looked like Super Bowl contenders.
If the Patriots can beat the shite out of Atlanta tonight, look for Mac Jones mania to get even crazier.
He's looking like the rookie of the year at this point.

Maybe it’s because his team is playing tonight :

Mac Jones is the best rookie qb in the league right now and playing better than Burrow.. He’s on a roll and getting all the talk.

How many teams with winning records have the Pats beaten? Played? Easiest schedule in the NFL.

The spread has made serious inroads into the NFL and part of this controversy with Mac is the style of play. The type of QB being valued are the Murray/Mahomes/ Allen/Herbert types being drafted to run this spread stuff. This basketball on grass.
Bill is bucking the trend today with his usual ground and pound, the same as when Brady was in town with his version of the pro-set. Even at times running out of the power-I and he runs a full progression read offense. It takes a serious acumen for the position to master this stuff and Mac seems ahead of schedule.
That's pretty much why Mac has become a lightning rod with the talking heads. A battle of cultures and what the media and fans fear most is that Belichick is winning, AGAIN.

He just meant that Bill will want to retire after they win a Super Bowl this year

Those shows do nothing but hype up players/teams on short term to generate stories/something to talk about.
I turned them off years ago and do not miss them.

Getting quicker!
He has transition from playing bad defenses to who have the Pats played.
Cleveland Browns before Sunday had the 4th best in the NFL.....BTW.

Hmmm if a sports network had to choose between:
1. Mac Jones, Bama, Patriots, Belichick
or
2. Burrow, LSU, Bengals, Zac Taylor
You really think would go with #2? I don't care how good Burrow is. They'll suck the Bama/Patriots off any chance they get.

So the networks were talking about Mac Jones on today - a Thursday - because the Patriots are playing later on tonight.

A missed field goal from beating Tampa Bay. Defense could not get a stop in a close game with Dallas. Beat 5-4 (4-2 at the time) Chargers on the road. Beat the Panthers and Browns who are both 5-5. I'd say they look pretty good with a rookie QB who can't complete a pass longer than 3 yards from the LOS (according to morons and not actual people who know pro football).

What do you call a team with one win against a team with a winning record? Clemson
