It's obvious Mason will be let go this year. Who are your top picks for DC? Mine:
- Muschamp (great DC and recruiter)
- Jim Leonhard Wisconsin DC (has had a top 10 defense 3 of the past 5 years. He's from Wisconsin, so it might be a hard pull)
Not my top choices, but would be easy to get:
- Patrick Toney ULL DC (younger coach that will probably be a good recruiter with the state of Louisiana)
- Brandon Hall Troy DC (used to be the DC at JSU and had excellent defenses there and now at Troy)
- Muschamp (great DC and recruiter)
- Jim Leonhard Wisconsin DC (has had a top 10 defense 3 of the past 5 years. He's from Wisconsin, so it might be a hard pull)

What makes you so sure he will be let go?

Well if he isn't, then corch is correct and Harsin is not the guy we need. Mason's defense is the worst I've seen at Auburn since Ellis Johnson. I still have hope for Harsin, so I think he'll make the necessary changes.
I also think Bobo should be fired, but I can see a case for keeping him. There is zero reason to keep Mason.

It will be really Auburn to bring back Kevin Steele

Man has one bad 1/2 and you're starting this BS. Tell me how you came to this wild conclusion? He may not have kept the pressure on the QB last game, but the team is ranked around 38th in total defense. I'm not looking for his head or Harsin's after their first f'ing season. Y'all need to chill tf out. This is how we get labeled a university to avoid coaching at, if this is how reactive we'll always be. I think mason has sparks of greatness, but needs to stick to what is working instead of deciding to get fancy and stick with something that isn't for an entire half. It seemed he finally let up and got back to pressuring, but that was when less than 5 minutes was left.

I personally think Mason has done well considering we are playing a Utah State, UAB and FCS transfer. Our offense ranks at the bottom of the SEC in most categories. D can only hold for so long.

One bad half?

You're talking about 1 bad half every game right? Otherwise gtfo with that nonsense.

Look around the country. It's not exclusive to Auburn to get rid of a coach that is underperforming. If anything, Auburn's track record is keeping mediocre coaches for way too long.

37th ranked scoring defense and we’re comparing him to Ellis Johnson

We had not allowed an offensive touchdown in six quarters I thought.... Until the debacle this weekend

61st defense this year, and Ellis Johnson had the 66th in 2014. So yeah, pretty comparable don't you think?

Muschamp (great DC and recruiter)
Would he really come to Auburn a third time to work under a third head coach?
Would we get more than a year out of him before he jumped to an open HC position?

You mean coaches don’t like dead money?

He loves coaching, and he is not the DC at thUGA. I'm pretty sure he would.

Tell me what P5 team is going to hire Muschamp as a HC ever again?

This is dumb. It's year one, people. It's been a rough year but there is a grace period.

I like Muschamp as a DC but I'm pretty sure he will never be asked to be a coach at AU again.
No way him and Harsin could work together either. I'm not certain Mason is going anywhere anyway.
The loss this weekend is obviously unforgivable. It will be an albatross on these coaches for a long long time.
And no this isn't like Saban losing to LaMo.

22.1 PPG compared to 26.7 PPG
19.5 in 2019. 24.1 in 2010. 24.7 in 2013. For reference

I for one can say his scheme irritates me more than his results so far.
