Trying to remember when (or if) our defense has ever folded like a cheap tent like that. 40 pts. in a row is unprecedented. I gotta go back to maybe UGA in ‘96 when we were up 28-7 only to lose in 4OT.

Can you remember another game when we have collapsed like this?

40 points in a row? No.

But the LSU game against Coach O comes to mind. Pour it on early then Gus went conservative

I thought that I heard that we had never lost a game after leading by 25+. Is that true?

Thankfully I wasn’t there today but I got to witness the 20-0 choke fest at LSU in 2017.

These two were embarrassing as hell. Throw in 14 Texas A&M for good measure

Not at home

The odds of blowing a 25 point lead in JHS@PDF are astronomical

We also have like a 98% all time winning percentage when scoring 30+

I dont believe we have ever lost after leading by 25.

28-7 is pretty close.

This game will always be stuck in my mind unfortunately and don’t blame fans if they want to criticize Harsin. Laying that kind of an egg at home against an inferior opponent and showing a lack of resolve and mettle during adversity does not inspire confidence.

Worst game I’ve ever been to, in any sport. Miserable.

2012 maybe, but that season was a clusterfrick from the go. We were never really ahead in many games, so it was different dynamic than this.

I can't think of a time AU lost when up 25. If I am not mistaken TV broadcast said AU is 64-0 when being up by 25 or more.

I believe it had a little caveat that said “since 2004” at the bottom of the graphic. But I can’t imagine it would be much different looking back over our entire program history

7 years later almost to the day and we still haven't recovered.

According to the Internet they have gone back as far as 1967 and Auburn has never blown a 25 point lead. Burn it all down

I got home from the course and it was 28-23.

I guess I should have played a bonus 9.

Gus cured me of building my weekends around attending/watching games.

It is what it is.

Until we get better upfront, it will be rough.

The targeting was bizarre. To add it on after purposeful review was over the top.

We were outplayed and they earned a win, but that play made a comeback almost impossible.

That’s 2 targeting calls that I can’t understand. I’m not sure how players are supposed to make a tackle anymore.

Not this bad. Obviously there have been some.

But it was the consistency in which we collapsed that was awful. I’ve never been to a game in Jordan Hare where the crowd wasn’t at least a slight factor in giving the team a chance. It was like nothing we did noise wise affected Miss St.

And that was more because the defense made zero adjustments. Miss St pretty much marched down the field running the exact same plays each drive. Our defense used the same strategy. We never blitzed. Rushed a few guys who weren’t getting there and waited for Rogers to find an open guy. For 40 straight fricking points.

Once it hit 28-17, we should have changed the game plane and adjusted. Blitz like hell. If we get burned...okay, we’re still winning. But at least we would have tried to stop their momentum.

An extremely frustrating loss.
