Tank- 15 for 69 yards
Hunter- 4 for 15
Shivers- 3 for 8..

In a game that was 1 score until the very end.. we ran the ball a whopping 22 times. In another close game we basically abandoned or we're unable to run the ball when we needed to. Same exact thing as when we played Penn St.

I have been saying this all year. We can't complete a mid to long range pass. You just load the box. This isn't a direct result of OL or RBs. Our QB/WRs have to be effective.

Yeah, it's maddening. For someone that supposedly holds all people accountable, you'd think Harsin would have a talk with Bobo.

Is this your first year watching football? We have to throw to be able to run. This isn't traditional Auburn where we run first and then throw.

According to the first post in this thread, Tank and Hunter had 19 rushes for 84 yards.

That’s 4+ yards per carry.

Yeah when you add in Bo’s herp-derp attempts from tonight and sacks, the numbers become disastrous.

But the RUNNING BACKS we’re doing their damn jobs.

Yes 19-84 is awesome lol we would have only had to run it around 40 times to get to 160ish

And now Corch wants to blame the running backs for Nix also tanking the run numbers

Guys, you need to establish some sense of a passing game in order to run the football unless you have a freakishly good offensive line, which we quite obviously don't.

Herp derp the running game works when Nix and the passing game can keep the other team from just bum-rushing the line of scrimmage. That obviously didn't happen today.

Agreed.

And, even considering that, Bigsby and Hunter produced 4+ ypc.

Nix isn’t the guy in this offense that most “deserves” better support, Bigsby and Hunter do.

All need to be better. Tank ran hard but I think his longest run was 10 yards. It was a shitty showing on offense but gotta tip your cap to their defense as well. 2nd best unit we will see this year

You would think that the entire coaching staff has taken multiple opportunities to discuss the hand they have been dealt and the possibilities to obtain every ounce of talent these kids have to offer.

What a concept.....No, they just go into the office every day and throw darts at the ceiling.

This this and this. |I get so tired of people saying we should run the fricking ball more. The first drive we ran ANNNNNND passed, the balanced attack was very effective.

We decide to put a few running plays back to back and they start stacking the box AND WE CANT RUN, Fking ALABAMA could not run, THE frigging GREEN BAY PACKERS with Lombardi could not run. So you pass to get them off the line of scrimmage.

When you cant pass, they KEEP eight in the box and torture you. And thats what happened.

First they took away the run game and we were able to complete some passing. Then when it was quite evident Bo could not hit a receiver or they could not catch it on longer balls, they took away the short passing and the run.

Its called stretching the defense, unfortunately since we are so inept, the defenses we face have the density of a black hole within the first 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

On the bright side, the offense was “balanced.”
