I think this is about 4 weeks past due but I really like this decision. He’s a load to bring down, by far our best pass protector and compliments kJ well with the type of power run game we can run at people now. He’s also deceptively fast

I agree with this. I have been telling my friends he should get more carries. His pass blocking alone should have had in more for more plays.

I think Trelon can be more effective as a change of pace back coming in after Dominique as well

Idk if he is better than Rocket, but I’ve been saying since Game 2 he is better than Trelon.

He only had two SEC offers by Arkansas and Missouri. Good evaluation by Sam and his staff.

DJ and Rocket getting the bulk of the carries with AJ/Trelon as 3rd down/ lighting backs seems like a great line up. We have some dudes at the running back position.

Yeah and maybe he is but you really undervalue Trelon.

This year and last year combined he's carried the ball over 200 times, averaging 5.2 yards per carry, with 0 fumbles lost.

ETA he did lose one last year actually, still pretty good for the amount of carries

Don't know why this hasn't been the case for weeks now. If we had much of a 3rd down/screen game, Smith and Green could be monsters in that role.

Thinking back on some critical red zone 3rd and 1s we screwed up not running the big bodies. It's cost us a lot

I love all our backs. You really can’t go wrong. Happy for DJ to get the recognition.

I'm surprised more teams haven't went with big backs. The LBs are like 220 now to help cover pass catchers. They are at a disadvantage in the running game unless they are elite athletes.

He’s going to be our best running back in the future.

Love Rocket but his fumble against Ole Miss really hurt us in that game.

Depending on the refs those could not be fumbles as his forward progress stopped.

Yes he’s different. You think aj green might be better at slot? Or corner back? He’s an electric athlete but that’s a crowded backfield
