Did anyone else see this - on Instagram the @auburnfootball account posted a graphic about Kiesau and Anthony Schwartz commented “receiver coach not the problem”

It's too early to tell but anyone who has been around CFB for anytime whatsoever is a bit concerned with Harsin. To be fair the same would be said of Gus after 2014.

What if there were budget constraints from having to pay the equivalent of a small country GDP to Gus Malzahn?

You guys are missing my point that Harsin just wasted over $600k on this hire. All I'm saying is demote the guy, give him some more training, or coaching. Since he had his old coach as an analyst this would have been easy to do and then tell the guy to find something at the end of the season. It was one of his guys who was in position to make the game winning catch.

You said up and coming right? He had some receivers with some decent production at Troy. He was getting a reputation for being a good recruiter. He had connections in Bama and surrounding areas. Harsin needed local recruiting. It's obvious Williams mishandled his role and then some to be fired so quickly. It wasn't merely because he wanted his guy in there.

I know this because my nephew has done it for the last 15 years. He is now at a D1 as an OC in the WAC conference 2 years now. It's a grueling life especially with a family Crisscrossing through the country. He has moved 8 times in that 15 years and his longest stay was three years.

He was the receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Troy. How do you think that's going to go now with those connections? Harsin is an outsider and he can't come in stepping on everyone's toes because it will bite him. We are last in recruiting in the SEC right now, so whatever he is doing on that front isn't working.

Best of luck to your nephew.

All of my friends are worried about his lack of recruiting. If he doesn't get that fixed he won't be at Auburn for long. I like the guy but he didn't himself any favors with his first staff at Auburn.

Winning has a way of turning that around in a hurry.

Saban was 7-6 his first year and lost to LaMo. Coastal Carolina has a damn good football team, how did they rank in recruiting the last 4 years?

All I'm saying is, Harsin fired a no name coach who's biggest job to date, was at Troy. The guy that replaced him is a serious upgrade. His resume blows Corns out of the water.

Harsin sounds a lot like Saban. Especially in press conference He even says “alright” a lot lol. He is gonna have to recruit though. If he doesn’t recruit he is just a Greg Schiano a-hole.

Our average commit ranking is 7th right now in the league. The reason for our dead last ranking is due to the # of commits compared to others in the league that have larger classes.

It still needs to improve but it’s not abysmal like you’re trying to imply.

Give the man a little time. He hasn't even been in this part of the country for a year yet. He had to rush together a staff, try to salvage Gus' last class he put together, and scour the tranfer portal and grad transfers just to compete, and we ALMOST KNOCKED OFF PENN STATE IN HAPPY VALLEY!

On the other hand it does make me wonder a little bit.

Why would that bother you? Schwartz may need to be worried about his career for a little bit before worrying about Auburn anymore

Makes me wonder, not bothered.

I agree, Schwartz has always been a bit of a prima-donna. Hope he gets the League figured out, he’s got the speed that’s for sure.

Don’t care who the person is that turns the corner, but we have to beat LSU, Georgia, and Alabama on the road more often. We can’t go decades to losing to those guys on their home turf. Get fired up.

That puts you right on par for about Tennessee level recruiting in a much more difficult division.

The difference is Saban proved his SEC chops at LSU before taking on and rebuilding Bama. Plus he was aided by the REC in buying all the talent he needed.

That's kinda my point, why not demote the guy and tell him look around at the end of the season? Then you avoid the media circus.

Where are the commitments from O Linemen? We aren't going to beat the better teams until we get some quality guys playing that position.

We are heavy favorites for the two at Auburn HS and have probably taken the lead for another committed to FSU.

You should check the recruiting thread sometime

If you aren't a bit concerned we don't need to have a discussion. I'll admit I like his F... you attitude, but you can't win at this level by yourself.

What's wrong with the staff? I think it's pretty strong.

I can be a negative Nancy myself at times, but you guys are over the top. Dude has coached 4 games and did really well in 3 of them. I agree crootin needs to improve, but I am willing to give it time.

Honestly just not a fan of Bobo, he hasn't done anything of note lately.
