I'm driving and leaving for Norman today. Tomorrow will be my first OU game.
Anybody wanna link up at a local bar? I'm assuming tailgating will be pretty tame tomorrow being its an 11am game.

Yup, Fox loves to put their marquee game (which almost always includes us) at 11 AM so they can be the biggest draw for that timeslot.
That was a motivating factor for us to get out of the Big 12. The OU administration was not happy about that.
Obviously, money was the primary motivator.

You should take a picture next to the national championship trophies since they don’t have any in College Station

I think they have one with an open date on it. Some of Bimbo’s foolishness.

Texas had more 11:00 am than any other power 5 team at least over the last 10 years, there was a thread on orange bloods crying about it

If you're in the bar scene, Campus Corner (Norman) or Bricktown (downtown OKC) are your best bets. Norman is great college town.
If you're into outlier bar districts, then Midtown, Plaza District, or Automobile Alley are good choices.
The Oklahoma City National Memorial downtown is well worth the visit. The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum is world class. Norman has the Barry Switzer center if you're interested in seeing OU's historical trophy displays and Heisman statues across the street. The 45th Infantry Museum in OKC and the Museum of Osteology are great, and grabbing a steak meal from Cattleman's in Stockyard City (downtown OKC) are uniquely Oklahoma.

In the mountains, not in Norman. But there is a lot of stuff for the 50th anniversary of the Game of the century. Get out to campus corner early, then there is stuff near stadium etc....campus corner after the game will be lit......

Norman's local bar scene is kind of split between campus corner and downtown Norman....which are about 5 blocks apart. In between them are a bunch of churches. So you can repent for what you did on campus corner before you go downtown or vice versa.

Even though it is an 11am game, tailgating will occur. I know it was (not sure since COVID) a solid tradition for hundreds of RV's and Campers to be parked at the LNC the night before, and a lot of tailgating there. Good food and good folks from both fanbases.

And first mention of Texas in a thread that has nothing to do with Texas goes to Old Sarge. What a surprise. Rent free, man. Rent free.

Old Sarge just may be the worst Aggie poster I have ever seen.. literally. He/she is so bad, I’m starting to question whether it is actually an Aggie or not.. They are more like KingsofTexas than SummerOfGeorge..
Hmmm.. Maybe Old Sarge = KingsOfTexas?

Hit up The Mont. It's the main joint in the heart of Sooner nation on campus. Get yourself a Sooner swirl to go on your way out.

I understand the concept.. Nebraska and Oklahoma used to be a good rivalry.. but this isn’t the game I would have picked.
If you want to see a game in Norman, Bedlam would be 100x better imo..
Either way.. have fun! Go Big Red! It is 12:38 pm
and OU still sucks!
