ESPN Needs To Get Their shite Together

Fox is streaming some of their games in 4K HDR resolution. The images are superb. ESPN is stuck in neutral with their shitty broadcast teams and their stone age picture quality. In fact, ESPN sucks balls....period.

The ESPN app is terrible too and only works when it wants to.

Preaching to the choir.
However the mouse has almost created a sports Monopoly with ESPN. Once they get the rights to broadcast the NCAA Tournament, it's over for every other sports network

The colors don’t look as bright in 4K on fox.

Almost wrote a strongly worded letter on Saturday when they threw the Tennessee game on ESPN2 right as the Georgia game started, and then proceeded to not inform anyone on where to watch the game other than the ESPN app.
And of course the app failed to work
Thank God I rage threw the remote and somehow found the game on ESPNews

Fox's production quality is shite though.

Agreed. The HDR on Fox looks like absolute shite, IMO. Makes me believe they're still shooting in 1080 and up-scaling, or using a weird signal format or something, like HLG.
ESPN finally broadcast a 4K/UHD game (last weekend, maybe?) and it looked much cleaner to me.
The real problem is that regardless of network, there are only like one-or-two per week that are shown in that resolution.

ESPN broadcast UGA/UAB in 4K Saturday and it was incredible.

My understanding is that ESPNs 4K broadcast is native 4k but non HDR, while Fox's broadcast is native 720 upscaled to 4k. Fox's broadcast is supposed to be HDR (I didn't check during the broadcast) but the colors have appeared washed out compared to the NFL 4K broadcasts.

I haven't seen HDR football broadcasts on any other networks other than Fox, so I have nothing to compare. But, it's sure looks a lot better than 1080P. Paperwasp is right though. The number of games broadcast in HDR each week is, at best, 2 or 3.

I would love for something to replace ESPN. Since they decided to focus on politics instead of sports, it's mostly unwatchable.

When I tune into those games my TV is telling me it's an HDR broadcast. When streaming with Fubo, none of my ESPN games are displaying anything other than regular HD. How are you guys getting the ESPN games in 4K?

I get mine on DirecTV. I remember watching the Bama-Ole Miss game last year in 4k and it was amazing. I wish they did more than 2 or 3 games a weekend though.

Big Ten has a better tv deal - tv partner for sure.
