Thats really not a terrible football conference. Their champion would have a shot at making a 12 team playoff. Basketball will be lots of fun

That would be a pretty good conference. Champion of that conference would deserve a playoff spot hands down. Possibility of sending a lot of men’s and women’s teams to the B-ball playoffs.

Too bad there isn't going to be a 12 team playoff.

It's a weird move. It makes a conference that's a new tier between g5 and p5.

I don't really understand the point because all it's going to be is the conference the power 4 conferences are going to divvy up when they all expand.

It's basically the P4 expansion waiting room conference.

That's actually not bad. Better than the other G5's, I think it could stay P5 and challenge the PAC 12 for weakest. Okie Lite, ISU, TCU, Cincy, BYU, and UCF could all hang out in the 10-25 ranking, every now and again break into the top ten.

And a quote from the article: "With the additions, the Big 12 will retain its status as an Autonomy 5 league, college football leaders believe. The NCAA granted autonomy powers in legislative matters to the Big Ten, SEC, Pac-12, ACC and Big 12, but the most important piece relates to the College Football Playoff. The Power 5 conferences hold lucrative bowl tie-ins as part of the CFP contract, which does not expire until after the 2025 season."

The playoff is going to expand eventually. It's inevitable. Money always wins.

This will make it very difficult for Oklahoma and little brother Horn to get out before 2025

If they are no willing to pay $80M+ all OU can do is keep owning the conference, that will not be a good look for the B12 and really is not in their best interest.

And I hope they become the 2nd best conference in College football, to include winning the national title everytime the SEC doesn't

Are Aggie, Missouri, or Arkansas tempted to leave to go dominate that conference?

That’s not a P5 league.

There is not a single school in that league that legitimately has a National Championship ceiling.

It would be the best G5 league though and very solid in basketball, but that league will make the payout the PAC 12 is sending out look like SEC money. That’s precisely why it’s not a power league. Any team with a chance to leave for any of the Big 4 will bolt immediately
