I finally realize now why I hate social media, and any sports parent should be banned from using them...because of reactions like this.

Now we may know where Big Kat got his influence...geez!!

Gonna blow your mind now and add Clayton Beauford to the list.

Gonna go back even further, to the first black QB in AU history: Charles Thomas

ETA: if you’re looking for a school with a long history of playing mediocre white QBs over black ones, consider this factoid:

If Charles Thomas had amassed identical stats playing for Alabama, he would have been the third most productive black QB in Crimson Tide history up until Blake Sims won the starting job in 2014.

I remember the awesome TV moment where one of the first female sideline reporters dared to ask The Great and Holy Bear at halftime why he kept subbing the utter mediocrity named Ken Coley in to replace the very, very talented Walter Lewis in the 1982 Iron Bowl.

His response (in a drunken slur) was “I’M TRYNA WINNA FOOBAWL GAME!”

And it was tough for him. I remember the fans booing him, and cheering the Sullivan legacy Joe Sullivan when he went in. I remember reading Thomas said he almost quit over that fan reaction.

I think it was the same year Barfield lost to Tenn 42-0 when we dedicated the new upper deck.
Barfield was on the downswing after that year....

But Thomas was a pretty good left handed QB, if I can remember.

Most miserable game I ever attended. Hot as hell and over at halftime.

It was pretty much a given after UGa beat us in the DSOR that the IB would be Barfield’s last game, even in the event of a stunning upset. Which of course didn’t happen.

We were on the first row in the student section.

Tennessee players vacated the end zone quickly after each TD. Students throwing every piece of ice they could find.

Kept expecting to get hit in the back of the head by someone behind with a Fauci arm.

She's a racist POS. Even tho Big Chump is a pussy I hope like hell he isn't a racist as well.

And that dumb biotch should know the alumni should be calling the damn shots they pay the bills.

I'm so glad that is a tradition that faded away. I remember games in the 80's that would be raining cups, ice, shakers, mini bottles whatever every time someone scored in the student section corner of the endzone.

However, late 80's Tennessee fans probably deserve it they were miserable to be around. The 26-26 Tie their fans were trying to tear the chain link fencing off when all the visiting fans used to be in the northeast endzone. Have to admit I threw my share of soda on those idiots.

Ironic that she should accuse AU alumni of meddling while praising the defense (which rumor has it was coached for the past 6 seasons by DCs hand-picked by those same meddling AU alumni).

I was in the damn band in the student section end-zone 1980-84 and outside of a number of students stupidly throwing some oranges vs. Tennessee ("The Big Orange") and some tiny Milkbones VS. UGA, I don't know what the hell you are talking about.

How heavy were you drinking then? Were you the one that was doing the throwing then, ergo it excused your behavior a little bit because it was (if someone believes your tall tales) "raining" stuff? Because it wasn't.

(P.S. This is excluding the 1986 UGA DSOR where the shite-frick UGA fans on the field and in the stands got everything they deserved.)

(P.S.S. And ignoring the fact that one of those old wooden-stick paper shakers might travel all of 10 feet if you tried to throw one. And cups? Empty ones don’t go very far when thrown. And full ones? They are self-controlling because you piss off everyone around you when you drench them with your soda/cocktail.)

UCF vs Auburn would be a classic head scratching Gus shite the bed performance for UCF. Play them in a bowl game and it would be a worse performance for UCF.
