They will negotiate it down.

How will Texas and Oklahoma owe the Big XII money when the Big XII won't be in existence?

I think the revenue from the SEC will more than compensate and loss of revenue from the big 12

The SEC revenue will offset loss of Big 12 revenue

I think it only takes a couple more teams or so to leave their conference and the grant of rights is void. I don’t see them having to pay anything.

Actually OU is like top 5 in actual PROFIT, so at the end of the year they have more money than UT.
Also the PAC media deal is up in 2023, ACC in 2024 so other big 12 teams will be long gone before then. No payout it happening.

Chump change for A&M. Chump change for Texas. Now Oklahoma might have to go digging in the coach cushions and set up a Go Fund Me ...

The SEC is making a power play that will set the league up for unprecedented new media deals. $76 million is a nice chunk of money but it’s modest when you compare it to what’s coming.

Texas has around 60 billion in their endowment acct. basically they can pay that off in the interest money from that acct. I’m sure OU can foot the bill pretty easily also.

Per this articleIt's closer to $75 million each.
quote:
should those numbers hold — Texas and Oklahoma would be on the hook for around $76 million apiece. The good news for those schools is that ESPN's David Hale wrote that the figure, "seems like a big number but would almost certainly be in the vicinity of (or maybe less than) what a new 16-team SEC would pay its members annually."
