He can stay on the tracks or get off. It’s matters not. The Jimbo train is coming either way.

It’s unlikely Saban will ever be in the same situation Bryant was in at the end of his career. Saban is currently 69, which is the same age Bryant was when he retired and ultimately died. Saban looks like a healthy guy with plenty of years left in him, Bryant looked like he was 79 and not feeling good. I think it was easier to use Bryant being 69 against Bryant than it is to use Saban being 69 against Saban.

the latter scenario does not apply to Tennessee.
How many losses to Josh Heupel would it take to make him quit or be fired? Hypothetically of course.

It will be like the time Coach Bryant retired. No big meltdown, just moving on to find the next championship winning coach.
Even Bryant doesn't compare to the run Saban has had. Hell you had fans calling for Sabans job when you lost to OK in the sugar bowl. The meltdown is coming whether you want to believe it or not. Dabo is unlikely and frankly I'm not sure his campy attitude would fly there even if you could get him. I'm not sure who else you could get that would even have a shot to compare.
This isn't saying you guys are going to suck. Far from it. But to think that anyone is going to live up to Saban is foolish and your fanbase has come to have unrealistic expectations.

What you don't understand is that it doesn't even matter. Alabama the football program has lapped the field at this point, as the single greatest program of all time. No one is catching Bama. Everyone is playing for 2nd buddy.

Our unrealistic expectations come from Saban, so believing his successor will produce the same results is silly.
That being said, Saban may have a hand in determining who the next coach will be. And whoever comes in after him will have a loaded roster for at least 3 years. The epic downturn most are hoping for may not happen as quickly as you think.

Clearly you are the one that doesn't understand since that is my entire reasoning for why I believe your fanbase is going to be a shite show when he is gone.

Saban has 10 years of prime football left in him at least - I'll worry about it when the time comes

I'm more looking forward to the meltdown from your fanbase when his successor cant hold his jock.
Name a single coach besides Dabo that can even sniff Coach Saban's jock? You can't. It's neat that it'll make you feel better to see Alabama normalize itself with the rest of college football. Arkansas, however, will still be near the bottom of the division after Saban retires.

I believe Nick will call it quits when HE determines that dealing with the recruiting player pool is near impossible.
Trying to get the east button pool to buy into the team concept has a short rope.

hope he stays long enough for all the "institutional control" truths to be brought to light, (like all the trailer parks in Tuscalosa tithing 50% to the "church of a school I can't spell")
so all the mutated inbreds can blame him for the multiple title strippage and Mandingo his statue to death.
You have confused coaches and institutions. You also misspelled Baton Rouge

I’d prefer him to squeeze out every national championship he can while he still enjoys it. A few down seasons at the end in his 70s or 80s will do NOTHING to tarnish his greatness. Those 7+ National Championships will tell his whole story.
