I know Bama is breaking in a new QB, but what do you guys think about this? ESPN Power Rankings

ESPN putting Oklahoma #1 surprises me in the least.

Both are pretenders.

Oklahoma is going to be really good. I'd have them or Georgia #1.

Eric Gray is gonna be a stud there and they just added Mike Woods.

Can their defense stop a great team? That has to be seen.

Next season is looking like a down year for college football with major question marks for all of the top teams. Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State are breaking in new QBs and Georgia has to replace their entire secondary. OU might be #1 by default.

Haven't in 20 years.

I would say if any OU defense in the past 15 years could stop a great team, this would be the one. But we shall see.

Honestly I'm not sure there are many defenses that can stop great offenses at this point in college football.

Oklahoma's certainly was better last year than they'd been in past years, though.

ESPN propping up the BDF large for this next season. OU will continue to choke when it matters, as they have for years on end after ruling the conference with relative ease

ESPN cares about flashy offense. They will score 65 points a game but give up 50 to Kansas State. Playoffs come around and they'll get rolled by the Bamas, LSUs, and Ohio States of the world.

Spot on. Oklahoma has given no one any reason to feel differently. Same with UGA. UGA will find a way to shite the bed. Always do.

Agree.

They were playing very well at the end of last year.

Woulda been very interesting had they played in an expanded playoff last year.

Why don’t you just hope LSU makes a bowl game.

This will be the best defense they've had in well over a decade and the first returning starting QB in god knows how long. The only reason Rattler wasn't first team (or 2nd team) all Big 12 was because the media wanted to give it to Brock Purdy and Ehlinger.

It should be much better than any of the teams Lincoln Riley has had. Whether they're ready to beat an SEC team in Game 14 will remain to be seen

Oklahoma will lose to Texas.

They have done nothing to prove to that they belong with the big dogs. The lose every meaningful game come playoff time.

UGA can afford to lose that 1st game to the Fighting Dabo's and still get to where they need to be in Dec.

They can, but I'll believe Kirby can beat Saban after it finally happens.

Bryce Young is a better QB than Rattler

Freeze, Gus, and Ed have beaten The King so Kirby can as well. He just needs a QB that plays great that day. Lets hope that doesn't happen.
