Oklahoma being ranked too high in the preseason is a tale as old as time. I’ll only believe they can win the big one in modern football when it actually happens.

Oklahoma has routinely been "team that gets into playoffs, never wins" these past few years. They're at the point where I, personally, won't give them the benefit of the doubt until they can prove by winning at least one game at the highest level. ESPN clearly thinks differently.

OU had the best defense they've had in years and couldn't beat a terrible Kansas State team. Then promptly lost to Iowa State and needed multiple OTs to beat Texas.

People need to stop looking at their win over Florida. Over half that team decided to quit on the bowl game about a week before it was to be played; Florida would have struggled against Vandy that weekend.

The last time OU beat LSU was in 1949. Come talk when you can beat us

Oklahoma should perpetually be ranked 6th. No higher, ho lower.

Not sure why Tuf Borland & Shaun Wade are considered key losses for the Buckeyes

re playing very well at the end of last year.

Woulda been very interesting had they played in an expanded playoff last year.

That game against UF was complete fool's gold. UF played that game without ALL of the players worth a damn.

When will they finally figure out that beating up on an SEC Team that lost the SECCG and doesn't want to be there for a NY6 means nothing. They didn't learn when OU beat Bama. They didn't learn when Texas beat UGA. They aren't learning when OU beat UF.

This OU team has a good shot at the Playoff but that is mainly because their "tough" games are Iowa State, Texas, and Nebraska. None of which would finish in the Top 4 of the SECW. Texas is the only team on their schedule that has more than 10 or so 4 Star recruits.

The problem they will have is the problem they always have, when you play patsies all year and think your farts smell like roses you get your teeth kicked in when you play a team that has had to fight it out against quality competition all year. They especially aren't prepared to win 2 games like that in a row.

The SEC is the dominant conference for a reason. You don't dominate recruiting and the draft and have a playoff record like the SEC does year after year because of hype.

Don't be a freakin idiot.

They were playing very well in November and got better throughout the season.

ETA I posted how "hot" they were playing before the UF game

It’s like the pre-season heisman. Doesn’t mean squat.

OU hasn’t really done any worse in the playoffs than anybody but bama and Clemson. Sure LSU smoked them but the other games haven’t been as bad for them as ND or Ohio state have had. They probably beat UGA if not for a massive 4th Q collapse and multiple overtimes. They gave bama their best game of the year in 2018. Last year they lost some games early because of a COVID depleted roster but looked very good middle to end of season. Their defense is probably going to be top 10 this year and their offense is returning some insane talent. Those teams that lost in the playoffs had embarrassing defenses, and last year and this year they have had elite defenses.

What?

- Georgia lost to us by 7 in the SECCG (and led by double digits in the 4th qtr)

- Clemson beat us. By 28.

I guess it was the 3rd best game against us, but it was never close to being in doubt. Oklahoma never had the ball with a chance to cut the score to single digits.

Oklahoma was down 28-0 before you could blink. I’d imagine the SEC title game versus Georgia was a little tighter.

The Aggies on here sure have a lot of interesting opinions. I guess a 9-1 season will do that. If the Aggies were getting potential preseason #1 hype, they would have a parade.
