Can't say that it's any more "strange" than a Bama fan pretending (badly) to be a Ohio State fan.

Jabril was a LB who had a decent, not great year.
Aggies hate him because he blanketed the TE all game and shut down Mond.
Aggie won the game, but Cox and company made them look so awful they were left out of the playoff.
