So Maryland plays slow, doesn’t rebound well, or force a lot of turnovers?

They also appear to have a very short bench

Wiggins - 82.8% mins
Ayala - 80.8% mins

Scott - 76.4% mins
Hart - 63.6% mins
Hamilton - 50.6% mins
Galin - 34.8% mins
Mona - 12.2% mins
Smart - 11.9% mins

They basically play 7 guys

Morsell - 36
Hart - 36
Ayala - 34
Wiggins - 33
Scott -33

Hamilton - 16
Galin - 7
Mona - 5

Might need to tone that down a bit

Petty can do more than just scoring. He won the hard hat awards from the last game for his hustle, rebounding.

The irony being if he hadn't fricked up so much we wouldn't have needed so many rebounds.

All of this points to what should be a convincing win. Again, we don’t even have to play exceptionally on offense if we rebound and take care of the ball, which they don’t appear to be very good at stopping. That, along with the short bench should, in theory, give Bama a pretty big advantage in the final 10-12 minutes.

Obviously we should win this game and I’m much happier to be playing them than UConn. They don’t have the type of size that has given us trouble on drives to the basket or the length to close up passing lanes, or even the depth to bring in a guy for a spark.

They were a bad team in league play and the B1G has underperformed big time thus far in the tournament. This one shouldn’t be competitive, but it’s March and crazy shite happens, so we’ll see. From an efficiency perspective, they look kind of like Oklahoma without any stars, but we know how that went. I’m still taking Bama and giving the points.

Disclaimer: I’ve watched 0 minutes of Maryland basketball this year, so feel free to correct me.

I dunno about not competitive, but I think we hold advantages across the board. If we play our game and shoot it average we should win.

If we can't beat The Terps, we weren't going very far anyway.

They aren't a very good team.. imo.

Coach Oats said Josh will be a game day decision today. Holy cow it would be great to get him back.

Sounds like coach-speak to give Maryland something else to prepare for imo.

Forgot the analytics on this one. I'm going old school.

Alabama wins because Mobile had better seafood than Maryland.

They're a good team. Very solid on defense. But I will be very disappointed with a loss. I feel like the floor should be the elite 8. Nothing at this point will take away from this fantastic season. But we get to the elite 8, it's officially the best Bama season I've ever seen. Win tonight, and it still might be the best season (I was 3 in 87, so I'm only counting starting when I was old enough to play organized basketball, and started paying attention to the sport).

The most Alabama basketball thing ever is going to be to make it to the Elite 8 and lose...

...to Creighton.

Almost a perfect comparison. Bama-UF was close for one half, then Bama just started pulling away.
