Musselman's game planning

Musselman has a record of 41-9 when he has 5 or more days to prepare for a game.
Of those 9 losses, 5 were under his first season at Nevada when he inherited a 9-22 team.
All 9 losses are during his time at Nevada, he has never lost a game with that amount of time to prepare while at Arkansas.
He is elite in the game planning department.

As soon as Alabama started getting momentum at the start of the 2nd half, he slowed everything down by letting Williams bang down low 1v1 after he saw we had an advantage there. Think we ended up doing it 3 straight trips down the floor. Gave us time to regroup and the rest is history. He's got such a keen eye for stuff like that.

Well how often do you get 5 days to prepare for the next game? At most it’s 3-4.

Depends, this year its been more than normal but its a great sign for tournament performance. Also good for big non conference matches
But to answer your question, its normally at least 5 or 6. Those are normally fairly big games though.

His eye for seeing the Bama Hack defense was going to cause Vanover serious problems was legit as well.
Very happy to see him adapt to that and not force Vanover in there for most of the game.
I say that as Vanover has started playing a lot harder and stronger lately.

In the NCAA tournament, is there usually 3/4 days between games? Been so long since we were relevant I have forgotten

The majority of them are but you have at least one conference regular season game, plus a conference tournament game (as long as you are not playing early) and at least one in the NCAA tournament (more as you advance).
The point wasn't solely to say "hey we are going to win every game with 5 days", it was to show that musselman's game planning ability at its highest potential. Obviously he is still doing a great job when he has 3-4 days. Maybe when I have more time I will look at 4 games.
In other words, if Musselman is out coaching other coaches with the the 5 days of rest as well. He is mostly out coaching them with a normal 3-4 days of rest.

Unless you are playing in the play in game, you are getting at least 5 days in between the end of the conference tournament and the first day of games for the NCAA tournament. If you win the 1st game, you have one day off. If you reach the Sweet 16, you get another 5 days before you play again.

I distinctly remember listening to the Hogs on the radio and hearing Mike yelling “MOVE!” 8-10 times a game.

Watch Muss's presser pre bama on you tube, he as asked about this and if aggy canceling earlier would have allowed for more prep for bama.
Short answer was no and they only add a play or two before certain opponents so they have something not previously on film. He's was very vocal earlier this season that this team isnt as good in thier offense vs set plays, he was frustrated by this.
He isn't a stan heath with a 100 set plays to dial up at any moment, he sounds like he would prefer to run a base offense with plays called when needed.

which is genius in my opinion... He knows his team and their inabilities to work within certain guidelines, so he adapts.
This team is good to almost great... But there are a few not great between the ears... fwiw!
