I guess it's safe to assume every person on this board is in the Fire Stricklin camp, right? I mean if people want to be consistent in their thoughts there's really no rational reason you can find to keep stricklin, right?

Dawgs avoid being swept in a weekend series all year (it’s something?) and win on senior day 13-2.

30 win regular season isn’t bad but could have/should have been better had we not lost Webb down the stretch, McCallister multiple times during the season, and Connor Tate early on. All in all, this team could never get in sync for one reason or another and valid excuse or not that falls on coaching. Oddly, this was a year in which Stricklin did both a really good and relatively poor coaching job all at the same time. Just an odd and exhausting season as a fan and I’m glad to turn the page to what should be an important Fall and a Spring with reasonably high expectations.

Likely will need to win on Tuesday in Hoover to make the NCAA Tournament so we will see what draw we get. Either way, we aren’t winning a regional if we make it so cheer for whatever postseason experience we can get as it will only help.

Based on the Seniors who were honored today, safe to say we will lose both Tates, Blaylock, and Anderson in addition to guys who have all but maxed out their eligibility like Rogers, King, Webb, and Pasqua (any of them could come back under COVID rules but not happening).

So, my best guess next season is we get:

C - Gonzalez/Collins/Marshall
1B - Harber
2B - McCallister
SS - Guidry (?)
3B - (?)
LF - Dwight Allen (?)
CF - Jernigan
RF - Spikes
DH - Gonzalez/Collins

Starting pitching will likely have Garret Brown, Will Childers, Sullivan and Woods as 4 starters and Harris the Closer. If Cannon comes back, that’s a serious group of 5 starters and a door slammer with what will be an experienced bullpen inbetween.

We’ve got LSU on Tuesday at 5:30 in Hoover

Winner likely goes to a Regional, loser is likely some for the year

I think we need to win. LSU is going to a regional even with a loss. They have the quality wins and the name.

Isn't Tuesday single elimination? Dbl elimination doesn't start till Wednesday.

Yes. If we lose on Tuesday, it’s probably over. Win and we not only hit 14 SEC wins but get to play 2 more. 14 SEC wins is the key here.

I hope we throw the kitchen sink at them to get to Wednesday. If we can keep LSU's first baseman off the bases, and their SS swinging at bad pitches we should have a much better chance.
GO DAWGS!!

FWIW, D1Baseball released updated projections today showing us as the 3 seed in the Charlotte regional and not one of the Last Five In.

An interesting projection. Entirely possible we make it regardless of tomorrow’s result or they may simply be guessing we win tomorrow.

Unsurprisingly, Wagner has loaded the bases on two singles and a HBP with nobody out in the first

Wagner gives up a 2 out walk but strikes out the side thereafter.
