I love warm weather, too. Draw a line from Los Angeles to Charlotte. Not living north of that line.

Preach it. This is absolutely my least favorite time of the year. I hate all cold weather but Jan thru the end of Bradford Pear season can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned. And if you have one of those aforementioned demon trees with it's special fragrance and it's devils pollen polluting the air you can get 2nd degree burns in said fire

I planted 3 Bradfords in my yard in 1996 when we moved in this house. Over the years, they got huge. I probably never really trimmed them correctly but eventually they got old and started to break. I had a guy come in and take them down, grind the stumps and put sod down.

I can honestly say it was one of the best things I have ever done for my yard

Once they started to break, there was no stopping it. I would say that was 7 or 8 yers ago so they lasted 15 years or so.

I don't mind the cold, it's the gray skies and rain with it. I'm cool with cold and sunny. My first jonquil has already bloomed. Hope my family in N AL doesn't get iced in this wkend.

Condolences Awestruck.

I kind of like the weather here now...in between high 60's to mid to high 70s some rain to start growing season...but the best time in my opinion...I don't have to cut the grass but every couple of weeks...still can wear shorts and t-shirts still can kayak and ride my road bike...beats the heat of the summer...but no way do I move back north...too darn cold and hate icy roads...

I'm up in Lexington now. It's not at all what we thought it would be when we moved up here. I expect us back near Birmingham in a year or so.

To Awestruck's old man.

This weather, though, can GTFO. Been working in a basically unheated, drafty shop, and it's really the damp component that is so awful. Everything is wet, muddy, won't stay clean, and it makes the cold 100 times worse

-6 here this morning. For contrast, where I go skiing had a high of 20ish yesterday, and we had a high of 5. And they're 4k feet higher in elevation than I am.

But there was an avalanche on the road to the place yesterday, so probably best I didn't go.

In my part of FL they are predicting record cold temps (25) and a 40% chance of snow late Monday into Tuesday.

Got into the lower 30’s here in Nash metro yesterday and felt quite pleasant in the sun finally.... The damp and overcast weather in combo with cold is the real drag

I tell people give me a temp in the 90s with 100% humidity over anything below 50

The biggest redeeming quality for winter though? Lack of bugs. I can handle the heat, but the skeeters drive me up a wall.
