According to records, Will Muschamp was paid out by South Carolina in December. He agreed to less than the $15.3 million he was owed (installments) in exchange for $12.9 million (lump sum):

Nice payday. Muschamp should get a job as an analyst and just retire

Damn good for Boom Boom.
I want to be a below average head coach in the SEC when I grow up

That was the better play than the vol strategy that has backfired in their faces.

Dollar for dollar Muschamp may be the worst HC investment ever combining Florida and USC.

How much has he made, in buyouts, from Fla and USC?

Amazing. Be a failure at your
job as head coach---even in your supposed
specialty (D)--then paid millions just to go
away. Muschamp's fault ?----Nope, anybody
who agrees to draw up a contract to let this
happen.

Coaching and politics are the only fail up professions.

Florida paid Muschamp $6.3 million when they fired Muschamp, and he took a $!.6 million job as Auburn DC and Florida didn't have a clause to get a reduction in their payout. So why is a Florida fan giving USC grief? They led the way in stupid in 2014. Florida also paid Ron Zook $1.8 million after firing him in 2004, and Jim McElwain $7.5 million and his portion of the $3 million McElwain still owed Colorado State in 2017.

College's need to start putting better wording in contracts. These buyouts are ridiculous
