UGA faithful can attest to the annual “CMR has resumed calling plays” storylines
Those debates about playcalling were in the first 5 or 6 years of Richt's tenure.
Once Bobo was OC, I dont ever remember it coming up again. Not once.
There was an anti-bobo contingency when he got promoted (there was an anti bobo contingency when he got the starting QB job... hes had to prove himself to UGA fans multiple times and succeeded each time). Bobo was an internal promotion. Hired too soon? Moment bigger than he was prepared for? There were issues the first couple of years but he got better with each season.

QB development was his strong suit. He got competent QB play from guys like Hutson Mason and Joe Cox, while Aaron Murray set every SEC career passing record.
I also believe that Bobo wasn't allowed to really install his offense until 2011. That was the point where I started noticing a lot more shotgun and more WRs on the field. On a related note, the 2012, 2013, and 2014 offenses were easily the best of the Richt era.

No he didn't
Then what did Richt do? Should have been some sort of buzz around that recruitment in Athens. There was none.

We offered when he was a Jr and kept
recruiting em.
Clemson offered when he was a Sophomore
and they were obviously more aggressive
and he kept his commitment from '12
The staff from '10 to '13 had the worst
recruiting years in Richts tenure...so they didn't do a very good job with Watson.

Didn’t Mike have a pretty good QB and team up in Colorado or am I thinking of someone else?
He was at Colorado State, and not really. His best years were his first three and he was 7-6 all three years, then fell to 3-9 and 4-8. he never got any traction out there. Could be a lot of reasons. Lack of being able to recruit in an area he was unfamiliar with, maybe? A lot of things.

Thanks everyone! According to one of the mods on a pay board, the OC will pretty much run Harsin scheme, a lot of complex routes, over the middle and a lot passes to tight ends and backs. We’re not close to being loaded with talent like y’all but We have a couple of young receivers who are showing some promise and a 6’7 270 TE we’re pretty excited about, all freshman. We’re hoping to get some oline help from the portal. Those guys just didn’t want to play in Gus’s offense. Harsin runs the ball a lot and is know for good oline development.
Running routes over the middle sand in the medium zones will be different. It seemed like y'all either rant the ball, or threw deep or bubble screens. This should shake things up a bit and make it more difficult to defend. You also have a ton of TEs, it seems. It always seemed like Auburn recruited a ton of TEs and WRs every year.
