If we were gonna fire Gus this year looks like we picked pretty good timing. Texas just fired Herman, glad we avoided having to look for a HC at the same time as them.

Yep. I can only imagine talk was already happening behind the scenes.

Not a bad landing spot for Steele as DC imo

I'm happier with Harsin.

Yeah... Sarks resume away from Saban is mediocre at best... save for his time as QB coach/OC at USCw under Carrol, and that was 15 years ago.

Looking forward to the Gus Malzahn to Bama rumors. It's like some Bama fans didn't watch the past few seasons.

Wonder when Bill Clack will announce he has turned down the Texas job

Already turned down Arthur Blank for the HC and GM dual role.

Gus Malzahn is way too arrogant to accept an OC position anywhere. And Saban would never hire someone so stubborn to adapt.

Gus will likely sit this year out then get a lower power 5 job next year. Something like a UVA or Maryland level job

He hired Lane, who tried to kick a 76 yard fg in the NFL as a frick you to ownership.

This explains why Sark seemed totally disinterested in AU. I have zero doubt Texas had already contacted him.

I hope AU never even entertains another bama coordinator. It always ends up being a black eye.

Sark
...would he want to HC in the SEC against Saban?

No way he'd recruit well enough to beat him and a path to the playoff is easier elsewhere.

Well at least it clearly wasn't political related, if he's headed to Texas.

Texas already has its new coach. No way they announced Herman's firing without one.

He’s still a big question mark. UW fans love him

That might be Freeks best work.

Definitely a perfect combination of source material and target.

Only thing that would have made it better would have been if he’d used Saban instead of Harbaugh
