Jase was the return man on the left side.

The best thing is to either fair catch the ball and take that 25 yardline as our starting point. Add up the times we fail to get to the 25 plus the holding penalties and the fair catch is the best selection.

And giving him the ball in the backfield? Sark got a little cute in the 3rd quarter.

Major head scratcher on that call. I think it was 2nd and 10 too.

I was genuinely shocked at who was back there when I saw him catch the kick.

Then I was shocked that he brought them out.

Then I was shocked at how far he got

It looked a bit goofy but he stayed north and south and didn’t really get popped too hard, which was good. I thought he did pretty well considering where he caught the kicks and how he didn’t really explode out of the end zone like a quicker player might.

For everything about the situation, he runs hard and hits people. I’d like him to not bring out kicks in the end zone.

That jet sweep was really bad, because after that play we faced a third and 13. We couldn’t convert, and had to punt for a touchback. Granting Florida standard field position, in which they then marched down the field for a TD and came within 4 points again.

Hard to say what would have happened had we managed to run a normal play and likely face an easier third down.

Having to score basically every drive really makes negative plays that ruin drives hurt.

Was that the series that 70 got the holding call after we had made a 1st down? That was a drive ending penalty.

Yea. 1sr and 20, then Devonta 10 yard reception to make it 2nd and 10 (not great but manageable, same as incomplete pass on first down), but then we followed it with the awful TE jet sweep.

After that Florida’s defense forced the check down to another TE for like 4 yards when we needed 13

Yes but why the TE? He’s athletic but he’s not Vernon Davis that runs a 4.37 forty.

I think Saban just wants someone with good hands back there...he will probably be in the doghouse for bringing a few out

I think the guy has pretty much been in the "he just doesn't do the things necessary to be counted on" since he got to T-town. The comments Nick has made about him mention that he is capable.

Yep. Bad play call but the defense is too talented for us to feel like we’re in trouble after one dang possession in which we get stopped

I was agast and agape, imagine the slight TE returning KO... and then the turboprop sweep...
I did like the TE Sneak with Forrestal

But on the other hand, I was able to watch a kettle of water boil and the new coat of paint on the LR dry during the KO returns...

I think Saban/Stark knew its a new season come playoff and we cant afford to lose Smitty,Surtain,Moore,Branch or B.Robinson.Also we have not allowed a K.Williams,Baker or Holden enough of reps to trust them in that spot for a SEC title game.
Against ND you will see B.Robinson and maybe Smitty depending on score and time in a game.
My view is a K.Williams,Holden or baker should have been worked in by now, but a full SEC slate and lack of DII opponents just did not present itself after waddle got hurt.I think you will see 19 or Slade back there for hands purpose if they kick away from Robinson. But I do expect Smitty to field all the punts in the ND game.

Yeah, and then Sark took a look down at Saban and said hold my beer, and dialed up the unheard of TE jet sweep. The first one in history.

Im glad to see everyone else was as confused as i was. Wth were they thinking?

I mean Billingsly is a great TE, but can we stop pretending he’s Jaylen Waddle?

We oughta let one of the speedy freshman WRs return kickoffs.
