Per Bruce Feldman

quote:

BREAKING: #Giants assistant Bret Bielema, the former #Wisconsin head coach, is expected to return to the Big Ten as the new #Illinois head coach, per sources. Bielema won 40 games in his last four seasons with the Badgers and won three B1G titles.

quote:

Big hire for the #Illinois. Bielema, an Illinois native, who played at #Iowa and led #Wisconsin to three Big Ten titles, is a great fit in the Big Ten & will make things a lot more fun. He's a big, engaging presence who led the Badgers to three Top 10 finishes in seven years.

quote:

Bielema's contract is for six years beginning with an annual salary of $4.2 million. He will begin his duties at Illinois immediately and will attend the game today's guest of AD Josh Whitman's when Illinois plays at Penn State.

quote:

Bret Bielema to #Illinois is now official: AD Josh Whitman: "In our conversations, it became clear to me that he is a life-long learner who is continually looking to grow and improve," citing Bielema's time w/ Hayden Fry, Kirk Ferentz, Bill Snyder, Barry Alvarez & Bill Belichick.

Big fat slow lumbering football suits Bert best. Good luck at Illinois.

Good hire for them, but good lord Bielema needs to lose some weight. He legitimately looks like he might die within the next few years.

Don't care. A look back at my favorite Hog game under Bielema:

Alamo Bowl

Arkansas 31

Shorthorns 7

Total offense of 59 yards. 57 passing & 2 Rushing. Complete and total Hog destruction.
